So what else is new?

The "taking authority" NEVER wants to pay "Just Compensation" for what they are confiscating.

Property seizures using eminent domain procedures represent the single greatest injustice any government or government agency ever perpetrated upon the citizens whose rights that very government has been established to protect. Furthermore, those who exercise that power are most often not qualified to make decisions which have such a devastating impact on the lives and fortunes of others.

The fifth amendment does not mention "fair market value". What it, and the PA Constitution, require is "just compensation."

CAEDA (citizens against eminent domain abuse)where were you when this was going on...where are you now? Wouldn't you see this as abuse? Where are the roadshow characters from along the river? Oops, sorry-the "farmers of the land" are now busy developing the sacred family property.

Let me get this straight, a business taking a brown zone building and spending years developing and perhaps generating tax revenue for the city is now having the city take this location and not provide just compensation. Just compensation is not just for the property but includes all related costs to move equipment to a new location and the loss of revenue because of any inability to continue to operate and generate revenue. Government eminent domain is government tyranny.

Maybe the city should get the guy who appraised Highpoint. That worked out.
