I was curious after reading one of jerseyboys anti Obama rants, what happened here before that was the norm. Just a couple clicks and you see people asking about high school reunions, looking for old friends and remembering old times. Then on one sad day http://www.topix.com/forum/city/willingboro-n... and seems ever since its been race, crime and politics only. I still don't and perhaps I'll never understand what draws those from hundreds or thousands of miles away to come here just to say you live in a shitty town, blacks are to blame for everything and Obama is the devil. Like I said just curious not starting ww3.

oh I KNOW. I saw that too. But what can you do? Although you DO have the option of simply ignoring them. I still find research they tend to inspire fun, but when Jersey boy says something especially ridiculous, I just laugh and move on. Also, you could always find more productive topics to post about, something to do with the town, like when I sometimes post about events. Or you can post about places you want to promote... On that note, you know of any decent hangouts nearby where a few standard college age women can hangout with at least a few less skeevy guys around? Best I've found so far has been Ott's Tavern, which is a nice place, but I need variety and the last two places I took a chance on struck out.

Meh don't let our age fool you. We very much dislike crowded or rowdy places. We prefer more pleasant and calm hangouts... sure there might not be as many people our age, but that's actually a bit of a bonus. The last place we tried I learned about through a friend. It was obnoxiously loud, and there were a bunch of creeps around. There were two guys who especially couldn't take a hint... or even the direct "We're not interested, sorry. Try someone else." They were so persistent that we had to pretend to be lesbians to get them to back off... and actually that just got the one guy even MORE fascinated and kept staring at us for the rest of our time there, probably hoping we'd make out or something. ugh... I can't stand skeevy guys. I learned about Ott's through my supervisor at work. Every now and then a guy our age or close to it will approach us, and they're actually pleasant, but more than anything we just like how calm everything is... no obnoxiously loud music, no one grinding against each other in that nonsense that people have the gall to call dancing, and, as far as we've seen, no skeevy guys that can't take a hint...and we get to watch whatever game is on that night while we're at it. That just might have to be our place to hang out on Friday nights... but I still like to have options. Since the two places suggested by friends my age were a bust, and they place I got from my middle-aged supervisor has worked out, I think it just might be better to get my hangout advice from older people.

My spot is jays elbow room. Open late, has my brand of beer, friendly observant staff, 99/100 a seat at the bar, mixed age crowd, good crowd, decent music, a pool table and great bar food. Looks like a hole in the wall but its got lots going for it.

There was a time when blacks didn't go to maple shade.
Back some 50+ years ago mlk was traveling from a.c. to phila.
Rumor has it he stopped in the jade and was refused service. Most bars in maple shade were that way.
