Way to go dumbass! Get in a simple argument with a woman and try to shoot her!
Best of luck trying to get a job when your sorry ass gets out of prison.

I don't understand your Black men and guns in America.
Just turn on the television and many stories of Black men shooting guns and hurting people.
Why you let such criminal men have gun?

I heard last month that David was back in town... and he's in trouble already... AND he found himself a gun? That clearly went great with his anger issues.-_-; I though he was getting treatment for that up in trenton... I'll get snoopy and ask his cousin later. He should know something. I'd been meaning to check up on him anyway.

Yeah our government is kinda useless at gun control... But still ... Don't believe everything you see on TV. All of those movies constantly aired on BET dramatize and in some cases glorify gang culture. There were already plenty black people resorting to "gang activity" out of desperation not to end up homeless or worse, or for protection from other gangs and such. For example, more extreme chapters of the Black Panther Party (The original party, NOT the New Black Panther Party who is a disgrace to its namesake.) resorted to "gang activities" while trying to protect black people during the late 60's and to try to aid the civil rights movement in their own way... As much respect as they may have had for Dr. King, they felt he was too passive and thought that they should provide a bit more aggression in the matter... though there were several chapters that would try to avoid violence, often putting a stop to and preventing riots in many communities. Many were arrested for carrying concealed weapons, assault and other such charges. Later in the Late 70's and into the 80's as cases of police brutality, racism, and such began to decline, and as the BPP expanded, some member resorted to selling drugs as a means to sustain budgets and even bring in revenue. From that point the party began a downward spiral, still constantly "at war" with authorities. Huey Newton, one of the founders, made a point of supporting the "by any means necessary" mentality held by many of these chapters, While the other founder Bobby Seale, being a bit more passive, was rather unhappy with the direction some chapters had taken. After Newton died, the BPP was officially disbanded, though many members of those more extreme chapters came together to form the NBPP.

Even though their methods were questionable The BPP still managed to earn a lot of respect from the black community, and I feel that is where the popularity of black gangs begins. Some gangs sprung up to take the place of the BPP in the protection of locals from perceived signs of racism and other problems, while others took over the sales of drugs... Over time however, they completely lost sight of the "protective" purpose of gangs, and soon fell into turf wars. With less and less racists, corrupt cops, and such to fight against, they began turning their sights on each other. Young black men were often "forced" into gangs, simply because they live in an area considered to be that gangs turf. a rival gang would target them. presuming them to be members anyway, so they might as well right? Some join with pride, feeling like they are protecting their homes. The profits from drug sales lured people in thinking of it as a sort of "get rich quick" deal. Why struggle to find a job and then bend over backwards to try to live off of minimum wage when you can be "ballin" and "high rollin" with the easy money from "under the table" transactions? Then the movies began airing, spreading the culture nationwide. Children emulate their surroundings. They listen to the proud tails of the BPP, and see others "fighting bravely" to protect their homes and they believe they can do it too.. In fact, they often believe they can do it better. And aside from being completely warped by the little world they're living in, these are mostly decent people... often very stupid, simpleminded people, in many cases too weak-willed to hunker down and work properly. They don't want to just scrape by and slowly lay a foundation for their children and grandchildren to work up from... they want to see the fruits of their labors immediately and have the money now for the vacations and fancy cars. It's a shame really.

We're not as wealthy as a country as we portray ourselves to be... There are a lot of poor who just can't find work in their area, or are only making minimum wage, which in many areas is not enough. Some people are only able to find part-time jobs, and would have to try to pick up a second part-time job just to barely make bill payments... Also, our version of "poor" is rather different from in other countries... Having a car does not mean you're not poor... For example, I have a friend who was laid off from a job and was recently placed on welfare, but he wants to work and earn money to go to school. He'd been applying to everything in his area, but he hadn't even been able to get an interview. He applied to several other places a bit further away, but he was not having any luck. He managed to get one interview once, but once they asked him about his availability and if they could call him in last minute, he unfortunately said he couldn't just pop in at any time, because he had no car and relied on public transportation, and he lived too far for walking to be any more efficient. His unemployment checks were enough to cover his bills for now, but he really wanted something he could save. He saved up all winter by shoveling sidewalks and driveways and doing such work for his neighbors and used the money to buy a cheap old car from a friend for about $400. Having a car made him more accessible to jobs further from home, and now he's about to go for a job interview for a part-time shift... also he's trying to downsize even more from his 2- bedroom apartment, since his lease is up and his roommate is getting married and won't be around to split half of the rent with. By our standards, he is poor, since he's only trying to make enough to survive, and isn't what we call "living". We're very spoiled and believe that you should be able to make enough money to pay your bills AND go out with friends once in a while... or enough that you could save up and eventually go on a vacation somewhere... or save up and get that nicer house, move up in the world and all that stuff... If each paycheck is spent as soon as you get it on bare essentials to survive, then you're probably not going anywhere... Not that he doesn't go out... We treat him at movies and dinners all the time... but it's a pride thing... He wants to be able to treat one of us once in a while... And don't get me started on the homeless in our country. You don't hear much about it because we generally act like we're the richest country in the world and that homeless people don't exist here. Oh but there was this one guy I met a while back, he hunkered down in a house that had been abandoned and eventually managed to make a downpayment on it with money he saved up between doing lawn work for people and small jobs that local stores would hire him for in an effort to help him out... Now that he has an address he's looking for an actual job.:D

I am in school at Temple and live close to school. Many of my friends have been bothered by Black people who live close. Girls say men get mad when told to leave them alone. My friend Sveta talked to man and woman got mad and pushed her she fell in street with broken hand.
Watch news and lots of Black men in troubles with police chasing and looking.
In Romania we had people from Ghana. Very nice and hard working.
Here in city they drink beer and sit on steps. School police told us not to go into skinny streets that they live. Many troubles. Old woman on street is friendly.

Yeah, unfortunately there are a lot of black people who behave like that, especially in more urban areas, but please know that it's not all of us... Mainly it's how we're expected to act, so we roll with it... and a lot of them have developed really bad personalities growing up surrounded by that kind of behavior. It's all they know so it's all they do... It's really shameful if you ask me... I don't know how the guys at Temple go about things, since each area is slightly different, but in general if you want them to leave you alone, just don't look bothered by them. Blank stare, you don't care about them, and if one gets in your face just tell the fool to back up... In a respectful tone at first... gotta give him a chance to be civil... then you can get more stern if it doesn't work. He'll try to retaliate but if you keep a stern face, usually they'll respect you afterward. After that at most you'll get standard greetings of "'Sup! How ya been?" and that sort, putting you on at least somewhat friendly terms. That's just my experience though. If you act bothered by them, they either find it funny, or get all huffy about it... they are like children... stupid destructive children...

And the girl you were talking about... Most likely it was a jealous girlfriend or something like that. Stereotypically speaking, black women often feel threatened by the presence of "white" women because black men are supposedly more attracted to them. People get upset when you explain a situation using stereotypes... but stereotypes exist for a reason, they have some grain of truth from at least a portion of the group it describes... unfortunately there are a lot of black women with such low self-esteem that they believe the stereotype and think that any "white" woman could come along and steal the love of "her man". And there are a lot of black men who are too weak-willed to stay committed to just one woman anyway... So the black women will get really defensive and angry and desperate, and would try to drive off any "competition".

As far as black people always being in trouble on the news, I already said why I believe such behavior is so common in our culture... Some fools choose it, some poor souls feel they have no other option... Some desperate fools just fall right into it... While some evil-spirited people relish in it... but it has its roots in our history, and I don't see us improving much anytime soon...

Also, while we tend to call the drug dealing and such "easy money" there is actually a lot of hard work and dedication that goes into it. The only thing "easy" about it is that it's generally a heck of a lot easier to earn "street cred" than it is to earn credibility for a legal workplace...I have a friend who used to deal... until my other friend, his girlfriend, found out and beat the crap out of him XD... He'd put in a lot of long hours, math, and networking to get the money he was making with it... but what he really wanted to do is be a carpenter... He'd gone into business for himself and when he found he wasn't even making enough money to feed his two daughters, he turned to drug dealing to make ends meet... He met my sister and she straightened him out. They moved in together and between her working as a nurse, and him getting his carpentry business back together, they were able to get a nice little house out in PA, and while they're barely scraping by, at least my friend says he can look himself in the mirror now. He found that after applying the same amount of work and effort as he did with drug dealing, to his work as a carpenter, he'd do okay. Before, he when he'd gotten started, he'd built a team with some friends, and went to an accountant to run numbers for him on occasions... as it turned out, the accountant had swindled him, but after constantly running his own numbers for his illegal practices, he had a better grasp of it the second time around... and instead of putting together a whole team, he works with just the single close friend... so there's less people to share the profits with... While he can't say he's proud of what he did, he says it taught him to work smarter, as well as harder. And now he's making enough to support his kids the legal way, and is starting to save up for an engagement ring... He's gonna ask my other friend to marry him. Isn't that nice? If only even half of the dumbasses getting caught up in those illegal practices were able to learn like he did... Or at least had a good girlfriend who wasn't gonna tolerate it and would beat the stuffing out of them until they stopped like he did. XD When she first found out she punched him square in the nose... it was impressive.

I never hear about Black Panther Party. Svetlana works in diner. Told many Black people complain much and don't leave any money on table. Other woman complain and no person wants to bring food to Black customers. Why they do so? Sveta nice girl and treat everyone good. She always happy and smile big.
Tonight she says last night for work. She make 32 in 12 hours and people rude to her. Men try to touch her back. Woman yell at her.
She not want Black customers next job.

That's a shame... unfortunately there are a lot of black people who just don't know how to behave... although a lot of the that behavior isn't only black people. I've seen plenty of obnoxious behavior like that from plenty of people, regardless of race... I've always seen it as the "obnoxious American" behavior most commonly exhibited by young people, primarily college-age people... Though there's no doubt that black people can be substantially louder about it. XD Same with lousy tipping... I have a friend who has got to be the WORST tipper I've ever seen. He'll only leave a couple bucks at most, and that's if the service was absolutely fantastic. He complains if it takes more than 3 minutes for a waitress to come to take our orders after seating us, even when the place is busy... he complains about every little detail about the drinks note being cold enough, or if there's so much as a scratch on his cup, or if the COMPLIMENTARY biscuits, bread sticks, or whatever isn't fresh when we get them... He's such a jerk when we eat out that most of our friends don't want to go out to dinners with him anymore... and I'm pretty sure that if waitresses DO spit in peoples food out of frustration and spite at times, then his soup is probably saliva-based instead of water-based... and he's white... though he has french blood in him... so we run with the stereotype that he get's his snobbish attitude about food from that. It's too bad too, because he's plenty of fun to hang out with otherwise.

But yeah if I were you're friend I wouldn't put up with it... Look for work elsewhere. Though just to warn you, there are obnoxious customers everywhere... it's America after all.

Sergei, I have a relative who is while not a model material is rather attractive. She no longer will ride the light rail train alone for the same reasons your friend the waitress cited. Many but not all Black people just lack manners, or don't show respect to others. But god forbid you don't show respect to them! There will be hell to pay. You live in a very bad part of the city, I would be careful and very watchful over your girlfriend. Many Black people don't like White people. It is worse amongst the poor Blacks. They don't care that you are from Europe and had nothing to do with slavery, they hate you non the less.

Really is a shame isn't it... as a whole we hold grudges worse than cats XD... and a cat's curse is supposed to last 7 generations... so how much longer do you think this is gonna last?

And, just for arguments sake... being from Europe doesn't make a difference because, while we focus on our own past of slavery within this country, we can't forget the members of the Atlantic slave trade in Europe... primarily the Portugese, British, French, Spanish... Now I don't believe the list of European countries involved include Romania... at least not for the Atlantic slave trade, I don't know Romanian history at all so I can't say... Still, in the typical dickish ignorant American standard, European is European... same difference as far as we're concerned. I doubt any of those jerks take the time to figure which European country you're from... Thanks to our own stunted cultural upbringing we tend to be very narrow-minded... Not much interest in the heritage of others so we just accept whatever stereotype about it flies our way... And that's America in general.. it's like 10 times worse with black people... especially the kids... not that they don't want to know... they just don't seem to know where to look. I know WAY too many 12 year-old black children getting their primary cultural education from BET... which is ridiculous because there is a heck of a lot more to our culture than the trash aired on the supposedly "Black Entertainment Television"...

WARNING: here comes the ranting of cultural snob. XD And the families are a mess... Most of the kids I teach can't make a family tree dating back one generation. forget about having one like my family keeps, dating back 10 generations, and a quilt dating back almost as far... it's a fun tradition that used to be fairly common in black culture, keeping a family quilt and adding a new patch every now and then to remember family members and events through. And every other generation you can start a new quilt, but make sure to keep all the old ones... or you can just keep adding to the same one until it's too big to handle. The quilt at my great-aunt's place has gotten so huge over the years and you can tell a lot about our family history from it... Many of those kids have never heard any of the hymns that our ancestors sang as slaves, aside from that one in that Tyler Perry movie..., Don't know the full story of the BPP, don't even know anything about Dr. MLK aside from what they gather from the obligatory film and lesson every year for Black History Month. And forget actually learning anything about any of the countries of Africa, or how about Haiti, or Jamaica... Try to learn to fight each other using capoiera instead of guns. And this isn't a new development. Don't get me wrong, there's PLENTY that I don't know too, but this kind of ignorance has gone on for at least a few decades now. It makes me sick. As it stands, these black people don't even know their own culture so there's no way they'd try to understand someone else's.. and since all they take in is the BET standards of drugs sex and bling, then of course they're gonna emulate it like the children they are. Between BET and MTV and reality tv.... our media culture needs a total overhaul... and parents need to get on top of things with the kids now before they end up exactly the same.

ugh... buzzkill... Of course a Temple student from Romania wouldn't be posting here... Philly has it's own board full of characters on this website, for one thing... and there are MUCH more reputable and active forums to post such complaints on. Can't you at least pretend... It's more fun that way don't you think? This actually gave me a chance to get all preachy about black media culture and history and stuff to someone aside from the usual creeps. And for once it felt like it was coming from a slightly more "I don't understand. Why is it that I often see this?" tone than the usual dickish tone of "It's always like this, because their black." I was having fun too...Think we can keep pretending? I mean that's what the internet's for anyway... well aside from porn that is. XD
