Willingboro in the 60's and 70's was middle class. I think you haven't got a clue. Something tells me you aren't who you say you are,......
Pay no mind to "Andy", she/he/it is a race baiting troll that's loves to "stir the pot". She/he/it posts under different names when "it" gets cornered. Just saying.

I've never really understood this whole "rap gangsta" thing. A lot of my students listen to these rap songs and when I ask them what they like about it, they always say about the same things; "The beats are hot." "His flow is tight." "He keeps it real." I wonder, do they even actually listen to what these "songs" are even saying? And do they know that the drugs violence being rapped about likely never happened? It's just hype.
Oh I KNOW... some of my classmates were exactly the same. When I asked them what they liked about the song they'd give descriptions of the music, not the lyrics. While the rhythm and beat is often a rehash of one of the same 4-5 beats used in every rap song since the late 90's, at least they ARE usually well done... however... the lyrics of these songs completely ruin the fun of the rest of it... at least it did for me, and since the point of a rap song, is the lyrics, the meaning and flow, if i can't enjoy the lyrics then the song just sucks. I prefer old rap and hip-hop... Fresh Prince's Summertime, simple little fun things with small positive messages like Paid in Full by Eric B. and Rakim... As far as I'm concerned... rap has died. Sure every now and then someone will try to bring it back with a positive song, or a lighthearted comedic sort of rap... but it's almost always drugs, guns, and most importantly... the "bitches"... Ugh... And this is what my friends grew up listening to? Thank God I had parents who constantly played oldies, like Lenny Williams, the spinners, Betty Wright, Shirley Brown, and an older sister born in the 80's who would teach me what REAL rap music is all about. Then people wonder why kids are always trying to act "hood" even though they're living in a suburb nothing like the places they're glorifying. And WHY glorify such crap anyway? What on earth is the appeal, of being stoned and hammered, surviving getting shot, and having trollop after trollop with promiscuous women, likely riddled with disease, since they're so easy. And going to crimes for "easy money"... don't they know that anything that comes into your life fast and easy, will easily leave your life even faster? You know,a bunch of rappers from the 80's came together and warned us about this: "Self Destruction"... we obviously didn't listen.

Oh and an added thing on the previous comparison to places like detroit, and philly...

Willingboro isn't a hallmark of safety or anything like that... but at least we're not Detroit... or Cleveland for that matter. XD

Some houses in willingboro have bars on the windows. Are they there to keep out the white trash and creepy @as crackers? I didn't think so.
Yup there are a handful of houses with bars on the windows in Willingboro. I'd bet they had a kid that was an addict in the 80s and came from the city where bars are a common site. I only know of 3 houses with bars on windows and those houses haven't changed since I was young.

There plenty of "white trash and creepy ass crackers" in jail and I'm sure more than a few for b&e so I would imagine somewhere someone put bars on their windows for them.

Let's see... there's that one in Penny Packer... I think I remember seeing one in Buckingham once... My dad removed the bars from the windows of a house in one of the Garfield parks while working with our church's neighborhood home improvement program... They fix up old and sometimes abandoned houses, make them more acceptable to the suburban surroundings. It helps slightly in bringing up the overall value of homes in those neighborhoods... slightly...

I think I saw that one in Hawthorne too. I passed it while on my way to a house I was thinking of buying. Aside from those bars it looked okay... just in need of some maintenance.

Ah the "Self Destruction" rap; about the only respectable project I know of that Flavor Flav was ever a part of. Still, it's nice seeing someone who enjoys music from before her time.
