Walking trail? Walking trail to where? Who will keep up this walkning trail? Where will it lead to?

I guess what was cleared off was a parking lot for all of the people to park while they are walking? Only in Mount Holly.

Jack,
Saw more work being done on the walkting trail this week. Do you know when it will be ready for walkers? Will there be any bathroom facilities along the trail? Will Mr. Springs be available during the day for talks?

Thanks,

This area will be a walking trail,in approx 12-15 yrs. This will never have bathroom facilities, except the woods, this was mostely a tax write off for the Springs family. You can talk with Tom anytime......as I recall you are trying to get monies for the Boys & Girls Club, thats a funny one this will neve happon. I talk with him every day,and know for a fact this is a laughing matter..........you see he and I are related to each other..... you would be the first..........in some respects he is like his dad..........tight......tight. Ask anyone in MH about Tom Springs Sr. When he passed they didn't dig a hole 6x6x4 they screwed him into the ground. As kids we baled hay from 4 in the mornings till 11 at night and was paid .35 a bale. And you better not miss one on the groung.Try throwing a bale of hay on a wagon or truck...12-13ft. off the ground for that long. Ever work or grow up on a farm? Ever bale wheat straw? When people say they miss the good old days? TRY LIVEING ON A FARM......ESP THE SPRINGS FARM!!!!!!!!!!

So if I need to take a dump, can't use Mr. Springs' facilities? It's the least he could do, seeing he's gettin that big tax rite off.

Tom Springs wants to give this property to the City of Mount Holly,so they can build a by-pass arround the MHMS so traffic will not build up----but the city will not take this property......they don't have the money to build a by-pass,the county doesn't eithor.....so that leaves the state to do it.......and this will never happon! Carlton Broome will also let them cross his property for this connection, but the city can't use tax payer monies to do the work for a state or county project.....which this is.The crossing at the postal office with the Rail Road Gates and lights belong to Carlton Broome, and he has given the right of way for this project, but again the STATE,COUNTY,CITY can not agree nor come up with the money. The Land Conservitor people also will never give this property up for a walking trail,as long as they can control it.Once you give property to this Conservitor they hold on to it until they them selves make a profit or just to control the property..most people don't know what they do nor do they check to see....it started out as a good and workible people but in the last 20yrs has become a (cult) but something like.......they are a bunch of do gooders to some respect, and in some cases mean well......but in things like this NO. Unless Tom can get the city to take this property, the Land Conservitory has control. It will stay in his and their hands, and really no one can use it. He can't build anything on this property, but can plow and plant on it. Once the City,County or State receives this property.........then and only then can it be used for public use.Tom has good intentions, but really fell into the hands of a slick talking politition. This was a way to keep land and not pay taxes or a low rate of tax, which most people would also do.

Why would any government body commit to spending so much money to alleviate such a small problem, such as the traffic issues at the middle school? What a waste of land and taxpayer money!

This guy must have ulterior motives.

I thought this farm was in this guys family forever, what's he doing giving it away? Must not be like his brother.....

Most of you who post on this forum don't understand what was said......he has not deeded this place to any corporation...this is a land bank....and will always be in the family.....Tom Springs is looking out for himself and family by doing this.......not haveing a huge tax bill and trying to help the town out, with a by pass.....which is needed. And this property is no use for farming anymore.Times are changeing.......this region there is no purpose for farm.Town are growing up arround such places and you have too many do gooders who are opposed to what the Spring's have done.If you have lived in Mt.Holly as long as you say you yourself would have seen that this farm hasn't been a farm in many yeare....all that was done here was to grow wheat for straw to sell to meet tax payements.Tom Springs Jr. has never really liked the farm aspect of this life. As you may remember he burned down several barns for spite agance farming and his dad!How much farming have you seen there in the past 30 yrs..........none if any.DO YOU EVEN KNOW WHAT FARMING IS OR WHAT IT CONSIST OF?

Did you graduate grade school?

Or were you home schooled?

The IQ level of these posters are sad to say the least.

No ill-will, but one of my pet peeves is not understanding how you people get by in life. Just short of illiterate.

I hope for our country's sake, you do know what to do when you enter that voting booth?

These posters are the very people who save your ass so many times, and don't have to throw up their chest to let people think they are educated.Grade school or home schooled doesn't matter..........THEY GOT YOUR ATTENTION,WHICH GOES TO SHOW THAT THEIR EDUCATION WORKS..........OF course you don't understand what is being said at this point. If these post are beyond you.....you should turn your attention to something else beside the MOUNT HOLLY TOPIX!!!!! WITH THIS BEING SAID ALSO..........MAY THE SUN SHINE ON YOUR FACE,AND THEN THOUSAND FLEA'S INVADE THE CROTCH OF YOUR DRAWERS OR PANTIES..........WHICH EVER!
