If you like vinyl sided houses and the possibility that the price of your home will decline because all of the houses look the same.

Whatever happened to buying a house and living in it until you die?

As Check said, if anyone in this neighborhood thinks his or her home will appreciate in value, they are sadly mistaken.

The property used to be the Currence Farm. The elder Currence died and left it to his son, I believe. Scott Farmer, the realtor bought it from Jimmy Currence and turned it into what it is today.

Something special..........

The trust that held the property for the Currence family sold the land to Farmer. Farmer sold the land to a developer. It was theirs to sell. There was a buyer and a seller. Farmer outsmarted First Union?..... More power to him. It is a free market and everyone is free to buy and sell. Some win and some lose.

The property was purchased from Farmer by Faison and Associates from Charlotte. Get your info straight. Check with the City of Mt Holly or go to a council meeting and you might learn something!

Why would we waste our time at a council meeting? They are as just to blame for the crappy developments in Mount Holly as Farmer and the developers, probably more to blame as they approve them. How do I count them, Runneymede, our mayor once lived there, Autumwoods, Westland Farms, Kendrick Farms, etc.

Why go to a council meeting when everything has been settled? Farmer bought the farm, stood up in the pulpit at the Methodist Church in Mount Holly and preached how the students at East Gaston were going to be harmed by the bad water and how they were endanger by the low water pressure and unless the city annexed his property then they were to blame.

No one bothered to ask Farmer where his kids went to school, they to Gaston Day. The only reason he got up in the church was to enhance the value of his property.

The truth is the truth.

My money is in Westland Farm as I live there.

I like the neighborhood and the area except for some of the cretins here.

It wasn't about annexation -- it was about running water and sewer to East Gaston High School. You are another person that does not have the facts. Yes you are right -- the truth is the truth -- you just don't know what it is!

BTW what does "where his kids went to school" have to do with anything? How does where his kids went to school offend you? You ought to find another axe to grind. His kids are probably graduated by now and leading productive lives unlike yourself.

It has alot to do with his motives. If his kids went to East Gaston, where he did, instead of Gaston Day, I could understand his concern. However, his concern was to get water and sewer to his property so he could make a buck off the Mount Holly taxpayer.

I don't have disrespect for anyone trying to make a buck--everyone tries to make a buck--also, why would anyone including him NOT want to see the situation at that school back then improve? His kids went to Gaston Day so he can not possibly give a rats azz about EG? Sounds like he was smart and had a duel motivation. You sound like a hater and nuff said!! Besides all that sounds like you're gonna hate him for you're entire life.... I bet there are a total of 3-4 people talking about him here and no one really cares....,thanks for the INSIDE scoop but really!?
