Billy Graham Iconography

The more seen of the worship of Billy Graham the more I am reminded as a protestant how we have changed over the centuries. You see, we rebelled from Catholicism because of many things including iconography of saints. Now we see the same trend with Billy Graham leading the way. In both cases, centuries old and these days, we see that it is monetary driven. Got an idea, create a theme park for bible stories and Christian personalities.....oh wait, those do exist. PTL revisited. Why does it have to be Charlotte?

Could you read AND understand the post? Iconography of the saints verses Christ and the message of salvation. Pay attention!

Regional attraction maybe? Does it really matter where it is located? I guess you think Washington DC is too far from Mount Holly for anyone here to comment? Smart, really smart well thought out post...

I choose not to worship Billy Graham, so no I have not been. I have spent a life going to Bible school, Sunday school and reading MORE than one book. Funny that they all warn against the worship of man, and really impress upon believers to keep their eyes on God. Everything else is a diversion.

Kudos, love your post. I never quite got the Billy Graham worship thing myself.

What does the statue of Joe Paterno and Billy Graham have in common? They both could fall at anytime. They are men who are bound to make lots of mistakes.Worship and pray to one God. A man is just a man, no matter how much you sugarcoat him.

That's kind of ignorant...because the Library exalts Christ - not Dr. Graham. Nobody worships him there. Kind of silly to pass judgement when you have never been.Locals are proud of him because he is a hometown boy. The Bible says give honor to whom honor is due. He is a humble man - you could learn from him. ;)

Has everyone gotten the word that Billy is NOT giving an endorsement for Romney? Amazing how the local media has ignored that except for one segment on the six o'clock news the day Romney visited Billy.

To be deep in history is to cease to be Protestant.
