Just wondering if anyone knows what happened to this place. I was a regular customer in Belmont and they moved to Mt.Holly and I continued going and it seems like they continue going downhill im at the point to where I dont go anymore. Staff used to be friendly and now they care nothing about customers its just like they are just out to get another dollar. Just wondering if anyone else thinks the same or knows anything about the changes.

I've been a few times since they have been in MH. I agree it has gone downhill some. Last time I went the restaurant smelled bad and the portions were small. I do like the broccoli salad, though! LOL.

It seems that most of the restaurants in Mt. Holly leave a little to be desired. Even if the food were so so you could deal with it if the service was exceptional. Can't anyone find a happy place

Food is o.k. Service was good, but Holy Crap $50.00+ for dinner for 3 adults and 1 child. Way to pricey for what you get.

ARE THEY CRAZY??? We don't live in Charlotte for a reason!!!! You can charge that kind of money in Charlotte but not in Mt. Holly. These folks need to get a grip.

Ate there a couple of Saturdays ago. Service was poor even though there were only 5-6 families eating. Ordered Mac & cheese as a side. Was hot on the top, but cold in the middle.

I can't go to lunch there. Only get an hour and I can't get seated & served either a sandwich or the daily special in less than 45 minutes.

I use to go in there a lot. I would go in there and get great service from a guy named jeff he apparently quit because the owner didn't know how to respect people if owner does not know how to treat people. it has simply going down because of him. he is only out to make a dollar himself. but if you want to go in there an experience good service you should go in there and ask for amanda or brittany I tried those 2 and they were excellent they won't make it any longer if the owner continue to handle business the way that he does

Idiot. Poor taste for shit. The food and service in there is pitiful to say the least. Ken, the man who owns the place is an Idiot too.

Well there is no decision for you. Just do NOT go back! You have that choice along with everyone else. That's the free enterprise system. Works all the time. Eventually Ken will get the message or have to close it up.

Yes, I feel the same way! It has gone from a nice restaurant with a pleasant atmosphere to a karaoke pool hall. From what I've been able to find out it has something to do with a new city policy about money and hiring any decent entertainment. City Cafe used to Rock!(before the pool tables). Good performers like "Rick Alviti" and others performed there. It was great. We could get a good meal, watch the shows and dance. The place was packed. I wish the city would realize what this new policy is doing to Mt. Holly and stop sending everyone to Belmont to have fun and spend money.
Mt. Holly main street is only a couple of blocks and could be a great place to be if someone would wake up at City Hall. Does it even have a Recreation Department? It is not 1950 - or even the '80's. I think we need some new politicians with a fresher view on how to live life.
Thanks for writing about our small town, it is refreshing to know that someone that doesn't live here cares.
