There are too many sirens in Mount Holly. The law needs to be changed. Why so many sirens at night? Flashing lights are enough at bedtime.Infants need a good nights sleep and so do I.Change is sometimes good.

Well. Lets say that you call the police because someone has broken into your house in the middle of the night and the person is still there, would you want them to take longer to get there because there may be traffic in their way, or would you want them to get there as fast as possible with sirens blazing?

The sirens are there so drivers know they are coming before they can see them, so the vehicle of a citizen has time to get out of the way without slowing a police car, fire engine, or ambulance down.

When its a life or death situation, I dont care about your sleep.

Dont like the sirens? Move out of a town or city setting.

You sound like a born victim.

How many times do emergency workers blow their sirens because someone broke in your house and are still there?I moved here years ago when this town was dry.You might have heard a siren every three months. Now its every day and sometimes all day long.Do you know what causes SIDS? Doctors dont know.frightening a sleeping baby could be the cause. You seem to know everything.

Everytime.

What makes you think that your town being dry, stopped people from drinking? All that they had to do was drive a maximum of 10 minutes in any direction and they could buy their alcohol. I believe that the jump in the crime rate of small towns is due to the migration of people from the north, and the migration of people out of big cities.

When my wife was pregnant, and when my daughter was an infant, I was scared to death of SIDS. So I started asking questions to the doctors that we would visit (Obstetrician and Pediatrician). And I was given alot of information and resources about it. Nowhere in any of the answers I was given, or in anything I read did it say that startling a baby was a likely cause. But what I did find out is that the likely cause is that infants who die of SIDS have an underlying vulnerability (genetic pattern, brainstem abnormality), and are exposed to a trigger (maternal smoking, infection, or stress related to the infant's sleeping position) at a vulnerable stage in the development of the central nervous or immune system.

Yes I know why emergency vehicles have sirens.Do you think that every emergency worker has their head screwed on straight?Did you know that people used to be allowed to burn their trash every day? Some things change for a reason. You will never convince me that all these sirens at night are needed. The way the law stands at this point, they can blow them all they want.

The burning of trash was stopped because of pullution and run away fires. Good reasons if you ask me. But stopping emergency sirens in the name of your sleep? Dont think so.

Maybe if you ever have a heart attack or stroke, the ambulance wont use their siren, will have to go just as fast as traffic allows, and will have to stop at every traffic light and stop sign. I mean, they wouldnt want to "disturb" anyone, right? Would you want that going on when the minutes really count?

I have to agree. I think that these workers have a child hood fantasy of playing with sirens and are fulfulling that fantasy. It truly isn't necessary unless it's a life threatening medical emergency.

Isn't it usually life threatening when someone has to call an ambulance or firetruck? I know that sometimes the police are called and it isnt urgent, like when they are called to investigate a theft, but most of their calls are urgent too.

If I'm not mistaken, if an emergency vehicle is responding to a true emergency and does not have all lights and sirens on and is involved in an accident they can be held responsible for an accident that may not have been their fault. You would be surprised at how many vehicles don't pay any attention to the lights and sirens in the middle of the day after the car/truck has been behind them for a quarter of a mile.

Wink Wink you really could beat you wife at one time. LOL

I was talking about every Tom ,Dick and Harry emergency worker. They have the power to blow their siren all they want to. The same as the guy in the train who blows his horn when hes just sitting there and not moving. They blow their noise makers because they can.Its the law of land.LOL

Wow.... really, you are putting your selfish needs over not only the needs of someone elses possible life threathing situation, but the driver of that vehicle as well as other drivers on the roads. If it was your family that needed emergency service and that emergency vehicle was in a accident because another driver was not warned of the emergency vechile, rushing to save your familys life, coming through a red light. You would be very upset at your stupid law when that service was delayed or heaven forbid your family memeber die because of the delay. Do you really think there are no other people driving at night. Seriously you are a selfish person.

thanks keith. now go back to your other less hateful monikers. you are a bore with nothing to do but babble on about nothing. loud sirens are needed period for the safety of the vehicles on the road and for getting those first responders to their destination quickly with no incidents BEFORE THEIR DESTINATIONS. end of conversation. try and have a happy new year.

I saw a small white suv this week.It had no markings on and it did not have any flashing lights. It had a very loud siren and was in a hurry.I tried to get the tag number but it went by too fast. Are these volunteer firemen? Who are these unmarked vehicles with sirens? Wheres the flashing lights?I would rather them hide the siren instead of the lights.Makes no sense.

the 911 event cemented the "emergency worker" to a notion that they are in charge.the masters of planning knew they could jump off the backs of these typically ignorant low intelligence attention seekers with kindergarten mentalities to promote their evil game further and never be questioned because cops and firemen and ambulance drivers are the ultimate puppets of today's modern slave driver.Hall monitors taking names of the kids they don't like and turning them in to the teacher or principal. You ignorant low level thinkers mock true logic.I will run you down MrIllogicalDeluded1.
