Since the separation of church and state is thought to be only one sided by preachers and their congregants, should we demand them to pay taxes on their earnings in our effort to defend our constitution and subsequent tax laws?

No. The church has every right to speak up. They are not supposed to support a named person but can speak up on issues and tell congregants to support candidates that believe in the same issue. They don't even need the tax exempt letter. They are automatically exempt.

Jesus said to render to Caesar the things that are Caesar's and God the things that are God's. NO - churches should not be taxed. The citizens who are members already pay tax. The church is a blessing to the community - it brings good things. We should be thankful for them- not penalize them.
