Did you know the police dept hired new police officers in 2012 and more this year.

The money must come from us so lets give em what they need and be done with it.

They hired a significant amount of officers to replace those who took an early buyout deal. The newly hired are receiving lesser pay and pension than veteran officers.

Can we get reimbursed the savings or are they not going to ask another millage with the money they are saving.

You will not get a refund and they will ask to continue the millage because they will never get enough. The Police and Fire will go to the council meetings a couple month before it goes on the ballots to tell us we will lose the services of today if it doesnt pass. This has worked in the past and it will work again.

Best way to turn this nice city into a crime ridden city with burned out homes is to cut the fire and police.
A fireman told me when the city he works for goes to public saftey he would retire. Reason for that is firemen do not want to be police. I asked the same question to a policeman he said the same thing only way that was different was policeman was used for fireman and fireman for policeman.
Both men retired the day after that was adopted in the city they worked in both now live in SCS.
There was no intention of ever cutting cops off the streets of SCS, no matter how much rumor or story you may have heard. Joke

The city of Warren has the best police force in Macomb County and Clinton Township has the best Fire services.

The responce times have deteriorated with the central dispatch system.

With the new Police Officers the veteran Police Officers the Firemen and the EMT pay cuts I am wondering if the city can afford to make ends meet with out a millage and if not why? If they can I thank them and it shows they are truly effective on cost cutting and saving the residence money.

The central dispatch also saved money but it does have its problems and it needs to be fixed.

Lets face it. Its the unions that are at their usual money grab. You can thank Mr Smith and Ronnie. I am now awaiting the "we might not get there" B.S. Not getting there now.

Warren does have awesome police who are agressive towards unlicensed and uninsured drivers. Clinton Twp FD is nothing special when it comes to fighting fires. Mostly they're stuck tending to medical calls because they have to make sure the patient is stablizied and Medstar shows up. The response times have gone beacuse of all the extra questions they ask.

Every other city employee gave 10%.Add another five percent then go pat yourself on your back. How much did it cost the city for arbitration? Thank you SCSPOA.

Whoever said Clinton Twp FD is the best in Macomb County is way off. SCS had 2 fatals at during the night when they were not reported right away. One of Clinton Twp's occured during the daytime.

I hope all fires happen during the day time or we are going to die if it happens at night from your point of view.

Maybe the fire dept can have a day shift only and we can put our own fires out during the after hours.
