So, Mr. Frederick, according to you "every conversation outside the City should expound on St. Clair Shores' virtues."

Don't tell me what to talk about, Mr. Frederick. You've done it before regarding the city Facebook page. If I want to complain about the blight your city administration isn't taking care of under your watch, I will do so. This includes blight houses. Every conservation can't be about baseball, sir.

Does every conversation you have outside SCS expound on the "virtues" of SCS? If so, conversations with you outside of city limits must be insufferable.

If you want your "positive" conservation, remember it goes both ways. Ask your friend to stop calling people in city government(apart from yourself, of course) "liars and hypocrites." That's no good for the city's image either, Mr. Frederick. Ask your political supporters to do the same thing. Before they get handed pre-written statements, read these statements and make sure they expound on the "virtues" of SCS. This does not include false allegations of drug use. This does not include false allegations that city councilmen and business owners are in bed together over unethical ad commissions and insurance sales. Having that slander aired over city airwaves for weeks doesn't do the city any good, either.

The "virtues" of SCS include nicely-appointed neighborhoods. So clean up your properties. Do this in advance of the SCS Open House event. Another brainchild of Mr. Rubello, the best councilmember our city has ever had, who is not running again because of your and your friends' ridiculous and unrelenting attacks. How virtuous of you.

Here's how I spread the good word about SCS, Mr. Frederick.

After my property was hit with two of those snow violations in '08, I told all my family and friends about St. Clair Shores. After the ordinance and policy weren't even discussed until the following August, I made certain my friends and family knew that, too.

I tell them about the former mayor and DPW director who took scrap metal proceeds for his own use. Actually, I didn't have to tell them that, they knew about it from the news. Didn't you defend him to people? Wasn't it your buddies at the sentencing supporting him after he pled guilty?

I tell them about the former councilman who can't get over the fact that the city can't afford to pay for a parade anymore. Who refused to work with the city.

I tell them about the politically-motivated drug accusations thrown against sitting councilmembers. The police reports that get made 3 years after the alleged incident and then posted to the city's Facebook site. How these drug accusations coinceded with the sentencing of the certain former director/mayor, and how the media was somehow tipped off to them.

I tell them what happened with a certain restaurant on the lake. A certain catering house in the city.

Getting rid of Fredericks and the last of the inbred second-generation Wahby clones is easier than taking a loss on my SCS house.

As Florida Evans often said to the thieves and crooks in her Chicago subsidized housing project...

The snowplowing problems would be solved. All you would have to do is pay double in property taxes!

Violin Player, fiddling while SCS burns. It's this attitude that controlled SCS for too long. Everything's fine here, nothing to see here. Nothing needs to change. If you're not one of "us," shut up or get out.

No, Violin Player, I'm going to stick this one out. Change started in 2007 with Dave. It continued in 2009. It's going to continue in November. It's not that far off. Voters are smarter than some people give them credit for.

Mr. Frederick wrote in his article: "You said 'Here is a little more money. DON'T mess with our Police and Fire services." I'm not going to dissect everything that's factually wrong with this statement. I will focus on its gross presumptuousness. You first tell us what we "said," then you try to tell us what to say to our out-of-town friends. How dare you try to read the voters' minds. How dare you put words in their mouths.

So I'll do the same thing. In 2009, with Mr. Walby, Ms. Rusie, and Mr. Rubino's victories, "You said 'Mr. Wahby's candidates, go home. We don't want anymore tax-and-spenders. No more Good Old Boys' Club candidates. We don't care who the unions endorse. We're tired of you. Go home." And yet here you still are, and you're still trying to cram your people back into office. Why don't YOU listen to the voters, Mr. Frederick?
