Hey! For all of you that do not know the latest; Downing Clark Hope Center is the new name and they have a new mission. You see they were telling the truth about everything and the State of Georgia has given Ms. Cindy and Ms. Kelly their license back to carry on their wonderful work. This is about the girls and the help they need. Every past employee that wanted out-good you are out but to those of us that REALLY CARED--I will go back as soon as they call! I really miss the girls.

As bad as I want to say I agree with every comment posted, I don't. Downing Clark was a facility for girls with behavioral issues, and a home for many. I am a resident here currently, and I will be until my last 30 days here are up. During my year here, I have met some pretty amazing people, I got close with them, and I slowly started to heal. To me, at first, Downing Clark was my only other option to getting my life back on track, slowly but surely. I'm willing to understand everyone's point of view on this situation, but I want to make sure that who ever else reads this hears my voice, and whoever feels the same way.
The riot was a horrible and unfortunate incident, but at first, this place kept going and pushing through, and I'm proud to say that I was apart of that experience. Many people think Cindy is a horrible person, but I encourage everyone to try to relate to where she and Kelly are coming from as well. Ever since this place opened in 2004, Cindy and Kelly have poured their heart in this place. Many people recognize their efforts, and they are very much appreciated. Yes, they have made mistakes along the way, but what human trying to run a facility with 50 something girls at a time doesn't? Before you get online and decide to demean Cindy, put yourself in her shoes, and I'd like to see for one day you try to put on your shoulders what she has on hers. She never broke, and she still hasn't yet. So I have to disagree, that makes her perfect for this job.
From the things and comparisons that I have experienced for the year that I have been here, I think there is someone more at blame than anyone here. Cindy and Kelly hired a man named Mr. Joseph to "run" the things around here, and when that decision was made, everything went downhill from there. I can't say myself that I have never blamed Cindy or Kelly for what is going on, but me having to be here for the next 30 days watching the girls here leave one by one, is a very depressing experience. I think that this has kind of opened my eyes a little bit, and I believe that Downing Clark was to us what we wanted to make it, and nothing different. I am going to appreciate that the fact when this place was going downhill, Cindy nor Kelly never gave up. Things were actually getting better for a lot of the girls here, and a number of us here now strongly disagree with whats happening. I don't think that whatever anyone ever wants to tell me about this place and the "evil Cindy", I can never look at it the same way that the people that decided to get on here and bash on Cindy or anyone else for the matter. All the comments are plain insecurity, and I wish whoever decided to write anything, might try to put their selves in our position right now. I hope you guys find happiness in what you wrote, "voicing that opinion of yours eh?"
Well here I am, voicing OUR opinions, knowing that this means nothing but feeling the need to do so anyway.
=] for the people that wrote that about Mrs. Melinda, just remember, that your unemployed right now and she is still here, so uh boost of ego for ya?
Well stated and though I am unfamiliar with this situation, I believe you have voiced your opinion beautifully. Go in peace dear.

Wow, to see these postings I am not surprised at what has happened at this tx. Program. Cindy was the director of the inpatient unit at the devereux center,GA. Dishonest, safety and trust that has been a problem with staff on a unit. I dont thank that you could find a staff who would say anything positive about Cindy. What I have observe about her behavior is that she is not aware of how her behavior impact others. control is very important to he. Look at self and life could be better.

I just found this after these few years. I loved the girls, but hated the way staff was treated. Does anyone remember having to work 17 plus hours without any sleep? How about being threatened by the girls and having no way to solve behavior problems? I think the staff could of been treated much better and given more credit for caring about the girls. I also think part of the problem was over worked staff and under trained. I hope all the girls that were there by now have adjusted and are happy with their own families.

If DCC is still open, it should be removed from the hill and something put there that would the county some good. so people north & south on I-75 would not have to look at that piece of S#it.

Oh My, I can remember Cindy from the Devereux Center GA, Oh My is all I can say. I am now a licensed Professional. I would never display any of her qualities as a clinical supervision. take this however you like as a reader. Poor thing.
