Has anyone else noticed, read, and heard how ridiculous HWP has gotten? Do they even stop real crime anymore? I guess pulling people over for insane reasons like tag lights and head lights is keeping the criminals at bay?

It is utterly ridiculous and should be an embarrassment to the Mississippi Department of Public Safety and the Mississippi State Troopers! Like the user name lol a total embarrassment! They should train these young people on morals ethics and normal (non steroid induced) behavior. The bravado that these young people are displaying is far from professional!

In my opinion, women or men should only be allowed to be HWP if they have served as a city cop for at least 10 years, or served in the military for 10 years, or was once a Navy Seal or Ranger. This would help to ensure that men and women applying for the job are not doing it for an "Ego" trip and know what it means to serve the law fairly and not just look for certain vechiles to pull over in hopes of finding a DUI or drugs. Many of these young troopers feel they have something to prove and many need to be screened very closely before any authority is given. Also, anyone that has been convicted of any crime over speeding or small traffic tickets should never be allowed to serve the community as a police officer of any kind.

It is clear, the negative content about the MHP in Bolivar County is based on misinformation and possibly sour grapes. This group has proven they are committed to enforcing the law, clearing the Highways of drunks and doing their best to protect the law abiding. I applaud the dedication and hard working ethics they are demonstrating. If you have a problem with the overall job they are doing, maybe as an individual you should examine your motivation and perspective.

Right on, Todd. Some of these people should worry about their own lives and not hearsay!
