Ms. Carla Parker is the BEST. I strongly suggest anyone in the area who can send their child to dance with Ms. Carla. My daughter took from Ms. Carla two years before we relocated and we knew we were lucky to have her in our life but now know how extremely blessed we were. Ms. Carla is above and beyond. My daughter is continuing her dance and her new teachers are always raving about how well disciplined Hannah is and how great she is doing. We owe this to Ms. Carla. Also, Hannah was put in 'her peer group' to begin this year and the new teacher came to me immediately and said Hannah was way too advanced and they moved her up a class, again we owe this to Ms. Carla.

If you want your children to learn to shake their booties and learn provocative dance moves, by all means, sign up! She works very hard with the children and they learn a great deal, but they will definitely not learn classical ballet or tap. If that's what you're looking for, you'll have to keep looking.

Is there any place that you would suggest instead? I would rather my daughter learn good technique.

i think miss parker shows favoritism in her classes, and throughout the years, her dance instruction has always been the same. you are also required to spend an abundance of funds in order to continue participation (outfits, photos, proper shoes, etc.) if you are in cleveland and seriously seeking someone who can teach a specific form, i'd put an ad in the local paper.

i don't think she does anything for beginners, but if you give her a call she may be able to recommend someone who does. there are dances classes affiliated with the local university here.

Anonymous : I like how you praised her "hard work" as you slipped the knife in her back. You're an example of why people think southernors are phony

Southerners are not phony. We keep it 100 all the time. At least we don't come down here for school and talk smack about all the residents!

Ms Carla is THE best. I took dance classes from her for 12 years while I was growing up & absolutely loved it. I learned a great deal about ballet technique as well as jazz & tap. She works very hard & expects nothing less of her students. She also happens to be a very sweet person & well respected teacher. Anyone who could find something negative to say about Ms Carla is pathetic & would probably have something negative to say in many situations because they are miserable & jealous.

Yes, she teaches adult classes and private classes. Call her to see what she can do.

I've been taking for 10 years and she has NEVER shown favoritism in her classes... She is a very good teacher and loves every child like there her own. So before you continue to hate on her you should take a class and get to know her.

Do the kids have to be a certain size? Does she teach hip hop?
