I know Calvin Myers has done a lot of things over the years..but what did he do to get 20 years? As far as I know he has never harmed anyone but himself.

I don't know Calvin that well, h3ll I've never met the dude, but from what I've heard, the things he's done don't compare to some people here. It depends on who you know. Be a rich contributer, have friends in high places- you can do anything- and if your UNLUCKY get sent to jail for 2 weeks over a murder, rape or assult.

He dumpster dove at the post office, and stole people with PO boxes junk mail catalogs and such, posed as them with big orders, received the merchandise, and never paid for it. The reason he got so much time was b/c it is mail fraud, and it is has a stiff penalty, because it felony using a government agency. Moral: If you have catalogs that has your account number, be very careful how you dispose of it. |

And the post office needs to watch what they are putting in the dumpster. You would think they would have to shred most of that or something. I had heard it had something to do with FingerHut but I wasn't sure if that was what got him so much time. That is really sad though because some people don't even get that much time for murdering someone. |

I have to agree with Tater75 on it. The post office does need to do more. No some people don't get that much time when they murder someone. We have rapists, murderers, and drug dealers who get off and then someone who does this gets 20 years..That sounds messed up to me. |

Well I also heard that some of the people whose names he supposedly used told that they couldn't prove he did it and that his mother has not lived at her present address for 5 years like the postman said she did. Can't believe they gave him 20 years over this..should have known though, they do give the murderers less time..May T-ville just wanted to be rid of Myers.

Meant Maybe T-ville just wanted to be rid of Myers. Not may

Your right they do give murderers less time. Your also correct about his mother not living at her present address for 5 years she has only lived there 3 years. |

The final sentencing hasn't been yet..apparently Wes Stephens and Calvin Myers aren't allowed to be in the courtroom at the same time..Something about Mr. Myers having a case in court against Mr. Stephens.

i agree, he needs to stay in jail. he can't even behave in there, he ordered the prison a bulldozer and magazines one of the many times he was in jail.

Thank you Mary Jane, we all need to do everything we can to protect our identity everyday of our life. We need to get those kind out of our society and off the internet also. Nothing is safe around that kind. RR |

1 Like I said in a earlier post.... I think everyone who breaks the law needs the max sentence possible. There is too much crime. Identity thief is as bad as it gets.(Which was PROVEN on him) If you do the crime, be man (or woman) enough to do the time. I think for a murder it should be a death for a death. White, Black, yellow, green or purple no one should be above the law. An eye for an eye! If he did the crime he deserves everything he gets. It just takes one time to ruin some ones life in identity thief. I am giving my opinion also, RR |

Stealing someones identity is one of them. Check out all his crimes! If this is not worth twenty years I don't know what would be! Talk about a repeat offender... WOW RR |

Ok I don't understand something..how do you get someone for being a persistent felony offender if they have already paid for their crimes? Also shouldn't the things that a person has done in the past NOT be brought back up in a court of law? Someone told me that when Mr. Myers was in court that they brought up his past history clear back to 1986..can they do that? I forgot this is Monroe County were they can do anything they want to and get away with it. Also want to say that I heard that some of Mr. Myers' family has been reading the comments and want to tell them I'm sorry for anything that may have hurt them.
