Well that was a no brainer for the Supreme Court.
The city was wrong from the start but spend thousands of dollars trying to prove they were right. What a waste of public funds. Would be a real eye opener to find out how much was spent to defend this matter.

"City officials also said after filing the appeal that it could be done for a relatively small amount -- less than $10,000 -- because it could be done through the filing of briefs, rather than oral arguments.
However, Moran acknowledged this week that the city had already spent $80,000 in legal fees on the Psycamore case -- with more to come after Monday's oral arguments in front of the high court."
I will not be suprised if the final cost is near or exceeds 100k

I hope the aldermen who decided to go against the legal advice of the city attorney forgo their salaries so this money can be used to reimburse the taxpayers for these expenses. The 100k in attorney fees is a small part of what this will cost in the end. I suggest the doctor and the property owner sue the city and the mean spirited homeowners on this street who pushed this illegal taking of their business and property rights. The USDOJ should punish the aldermen who did it their way despite the obvious discrimination involved.

Did everyone on the board vote to deny them then send it to the court? this happened I another city seem to remember.

Only one alderman had the good sense to say no to the denial from the beginning. He agreed with the advice from the city attorney and voted not to appeal to the Ms. Supreme Court. I bet when all is over with this matter several hundred thousand dollars in attorney fees will have been spent by the city of Ocean Springs.
