Will these jokers just come out and be blunt & honest with people and say what everybody KNOWS but doesn't wanna say....

After Katrina destroyed most of the south Pascagoula area, a few blacks, but let's be straight, mainly whites and those Asian doctors, lost their homes on or near the water and never rebuilt either because they didn't like the city or the insurance rates were too bad. So they moved North of I-10, to the Franklin Creek area, and also to Alabama.

Everybody knows that the Pascagoula school district is half black and like a fifth hispanic and that mean's the young people in the city in the coming decade or 2 will turn it into a majority minority city and white flight will grow faster.

Those people who left had money & helped prop the city up. Everybody knows that. They took their money with them and moved to Grand Bay, Hurley, and Vancleave. The white flight that I'm talking about is the same reason Moss Point can't fund its schools because the black folks with money are leaving with the others and its leaving Moss Pt. broke.

Pascagoula's broke too. The shipyard hires a fraction of the people it did even ten years ago and has been bleeding jobs for years now. Chevron has fewer jobs now than it did a decade ago, and let's face it, unless you live down near the beach or on the river in West Pascagoula -- who the hell wants to live in what is basically a city full of houses that used to belong to shipyard workers and the houses are now empty and other than that its either a ghetto or a barrio?

Drive away from Market St. or Highway 90 and its a scary city to be in.

People are moving out in the country to save money and because the houses are bigger & cheaper and the taxes and bills are lower. It's that simple.

Pascagoula has had white flight for years and now they're trying to annex Franklin Creek and Orange Grove to get the mainly white flight money they lost over the coming decade -- and let's be honest -- they just want to put their cops up there on I-10 and get the interstate money like Moss Pt. and Gautier does.

They don't care about water or fire service and there will be HUGE delays and bad service for both just like how Gautier annexed all that land and is still behind on putting in sewers and lighting. They want the tax money and the police want to be able to arrest people and write tickets to force people to cough up money.

The city's desperate for funding and everybody knows its going to be Moss Point in another couple of years, a ghetto craphole that nobody wants to live in or visit.

I don't live in the affected area so I don't care but if the people of Orange Grove & Franklin Creek care about their lifestyles and bills, I'd vote no and oppose this shit with all my might.

Jackson trying to annex Byrum for the same reason -- it's broke and the Chevron and shipyard cash keeping the city afloat aren't paying the bills anymore.

More & more people will simply move out of the Orange Grove area for Grand Bay and Hurley.

Nobody wants to live in a high tax city that has shitty benefits and high crime. It's that cut and dry. If only people had the guts to say that openly...
