Well, well. Some people never learn. The word is out that the cushy $50,000 plus OS Harbormaster position will be given to a crony of John McKay's and David Harris, Guess who? I know a very qualified person who applied but politics won over integrity...again. How long until the Feds show up?

We are supposed to believe John McKay had nothing to do with getting Danny J the job. As entrenched as he is with David Harris we should all be concerned. May the scheming begin. Wonder if he will stay on as a commissioner at the same time?

Yes he did if you want a person who has shown that rules are meant for the little people. Didn't he get that Harbor Landing job with a license that did not psrmit him to build that metal hulk? And when the building department tried to enforce the rules, he got an honest man, Dave Hawkins FIRED with a questionable pop pee test? Who gave him the permit to fill wetlands at Weeks Bayou? Still can't believe McKay gets away with this good ole boy reward system for cronies. Nobody who had ethical problems should be cosidered for a job with power over people.

A thief promotes a thief to a thief's position. John McKay can't get anymore free fishing trips and free birthday parties for his grandson at taxpayers expense so now he has found a way to promote the crook that illegally built the boat house at harbor landing without the right qualifications or permits with the blessings to Takka Voddka Harris, Melba Toast, and close personal "friends" Moron and Martin. I wonder what backdoor scheme the gang of five are plotting now. It's just a matter of time before Dizzy Denyer gets off the bait shops front porch and joins the late night scheme. It wont be long before we will be reading about how the new leadership at the DMR has found a justifiable and "legal" way to fund the scheme.

As a retired person I have lots of time to dig around and find out the information the rats want to keep hidden from the citizens that vote. Apparently the rumor is that their were over 20 applicants that the Jackson Board of Supervisors could have considered, but chose ex-Walker disciple Danny. For those that don't live near the harbor it is Troy Ross we have to thank for this; he is the one that voted for his "dear friend" as harbor master. Now we will see all the private favors and deals made at the tax payers of Ocean Springs expense. We will remember you Troy Ross at election time, now that you are on the McKay team.

^you should dig in more informative places....

"We went through a selection process like we do," Fulton said. There were more than 20 applicants for the job but none that he could remember had actual harbor master experience.

Fulton said politics didn't enter into the selection, pro or con.

Jalanivich's experience in construction was a plus for the job, Supervisor John McKay said. The position is being expanded to include not only managing the harbor and harbor leases, but also overseeing the county's 14 boat ramps and two public piers.

The county Board of Supervisors did not interview candidates. Its Human Resources Department and Fulton created a short list and interviewed five.

McKay said he and Jalanivich have been friends for "a long, long time" and he put in a recommendation for Jalanivich for the job.

"I'm not ashamed to say I think Danny's the right man for the job," McKay said.

Jalanivich will start Monday at a salary of more than $50,000 -- in the $48,000 to $52,000 range, according to the county.

Board President Troy Ross, whose district includes Ocean Springs, said he decided not to recommend a candidate and let the county administrator and human resources make the selection.

"I wanted them to view this without pressure from me," he said. Education, experience in management, past job performance, job knowledge, personality traits, vision and initiative all played into the selection process, Ross said.

You could also dig into the new harbor masters involvement with David Harris on donations of real estate like the commercial lot on the southwest corner of US 90 across from Walmart. That is a good place to start and there are plenty more Y donations that went thru Old Danny boy's hands. There schemes are well known. Also look at his involvement with John McKay's re-election campaigns. e was as involved as the Walkers were. Lots to be uncovered.

None with actual harbormaster experience? Didn't former hsrbormaster and county employee Mark Hare apply? The one chosen has zero boat skills except to be able to let Harris and his boys use 6 slips for free. Last man in the job cut them back to 2. But now it's a free ride for the cronies. Why was that job posted at 40 grand but the alderman gets 50? McKay got his man the job by fooling those county people who did not know his candidate was a rule bender and a Harris employee.

It's in Troy Ross' district but the good ole boy Buffon is letting fishin trip McKay run the show. That shows how much representation we are getting out of this McKay disciple. Troy Ross in coordination with his dear friend McKay sold us taxpayers out and are bringing the Walkerites back. David Harris is still using harbor landing property bought with federal money our tax dollars as his personal property. The DMR is allowing him to do this and no amount of complaining is going to stop this. We are going to have to go back to court. Same suite just different thugs.

We all better get al eyes on deck at the harbor to watch for possible David Harris and family taking advantage of the other son, Danny Jalanivich's good nature.I wonder if the vehicle he is assigned will be allowed to be driven to his home in Vancleave?

I want Troy Ross and Fishin' trip McKay to publish jaloposnitch's resume. If he is so qualified and better qualified than all the other 20 candidates then be "transparent" and publish especially if you have nothing to hide. Let's see your "dear friend's" qualifications. Ross sold us out and we are not going to forget it.

Everyone complians about the actions and decisions the alderman and supervisors make but they are always re-elected. No changes are made, the ballot box is always the same. Even when people know of the under handed and questionable deals they are still re-elected. Sorta like Obama, was elected twice but I a can never find anyone who will own up to voting for him!!

Anybody remember when he was busted for pot? McKay is a bad man and he pushed fot another man who thinks he can do and take what he wants. The worst is that Yroy Ross will lose the election fot this sppointment like Frank Leach did over giving the harbor to the city, which is what Connie wants. McKay will then be prez and his boy Danny will be giving away slips and doing favors for Walker millionaire Harris.

Oh I do it was the early 70s I guess Troy Ross and John "fishin trip" McKay don't mind that especially when it pales with there own unethical conduct. I want to know if Troy Ross went on any of the DMR fishing trips. Does anybody know? For him to suddenly jump ship and join the McKay team stinks of favoritism. I guess he, unlike the new harbor master, has a boat or a dear friend with a boat or David and Melba Harris with a boat, or Ms Martin's dear friend's boat, or Ms. Martin's daughter and insider leaker of information of the DMR Harbor Landing sweet deals, or perhaps Mice Wiggigs' boat, or Casey Eore, the list is really endless. But only one group gets screwed, us taxpayers. And we deserve everything these elected unethical pigs do to us - that's why we keep electing them.

Does anyone know about some bad checks written by and passed out by the new harbor master several years ago? One business, a pharmacy, says they never could collect. Lots of chatter about this guy. I think his ex-wife could really tell some stories.

Get your story straight on the Leach giving the harbor to Ocean Springs! That did not happen. I do hate the good ole boy appointment though!

Frank I aplogise I was told you said in the paper that was the plan. Why don't you run again can you run for Party Dude McKay's seat? Did he ever pay the taxpayers back for his $2500 party on the Silver Dollar? Now he handed the boat slip list back to David Harris thru his boy Danny, maybe he can find his wallet with some of that 4 million Harbor Landing bucks magically in it! Bippity bopprty boo!
