Editorial: State parks don't have to close
A year from now, our choices for spending Memorial Day weekend at one of California's wonderful state parks will be cut by one-fourth. The state plans to close 70 state parks beginning in September.

Me thinks it is time for the citizens of this great state to step forward and tell the government how it should be run. The fat isn't in police or schools(at least not as much) the fat lies in the bureaucracy of getting the money to it's various departments. Cut there first. They also need to see how much fat they are receiving. How about a part time government. You know 12 weeks with a token appreciation the rest of the time earn your own keep. If you can't do it in 12 weeks, you are trying to do too much.
