"Recreation makes up 93 percent of California's total ocean economy".

Last year the surfing industry in Santa Cruz County, alone, grossed more than $450 million. That makes surfing one of the biggest revenue sources in our area.
Surfing is an activity/ business that continues all year long not just during the summer season.

Surfing doesn't ask for government hand outs. All we ask is that our government and the public keep our waterways clear from pollution.

Too late; read all the ways the Sanctuary says we pollute the Bay.

Read the above link to marvel at the understatement "anthropogenic eutrophication"; do not do a search on just anthropogenic eutrophication, you don't have that much reading time...

Cain't wait for substantial rainfall to wash that "first flush" into the Bay...surfs UP!

Too bad the supervisors are trying to drive out vacation rentals from Santa Cruz, let's get as far away from an ocean economy as we can. Right Napoleon?
Urban Runoff

If Urban Runoff is causing problems with the Ocean, why is the County spending Millions of dollars putting in concrete sidewalks and storm drains?

Why did they run the polluted water out at the bottom of the stairs at 1st Peak in Pleasure Point?

Why do they prevent the water from getting into the ground?
Do they want to spend more for a De Sal Plant, that has many environmental problems?

The EPA has grants for Green Storm-water projects.
Lets do it right!

That would be a good thing for Gary to promote.

Slow, Spread, Store.

Waiting to see what he has to share.
