Let me see. a guy takes off from an accident that he caused. The other driver drives after him. They both go very fast and the guy who caused the accident and then ran lost control of his car and ended up dead. Had the police been the one following him-nothing would be done. Had the guy just ran off the road-nothing would be done but because this other guy ran after him (with the State Police being called to help?) they want to say that he's at fault. LETS PUT THE BLAME and ACCOUNTABILITY ON THE GUY WHO CAUSED THE HIT AND RUN, RAN AWAY, COULDN'T DRIVE WELL AND ENDED UP DIEING IN THE PROCESS. MIGHT CALL IT SUICIDE BUT NOT MANSLAUGHTER. Sorry anyone was harmed but if I am on the jury, I will let the guy off with anger managment at best unless the story is not telling the whole tale.

Your comment is amusingly ignorant. If the DRUNK (a.k.a Diehl) had gotten the license plate of Vogt’s car, and reported Vogt to the police, then Vogt would have had to face charges of leaving the scene of an accident. And rightly so, he would have faced any other charges the police deemed necessary. That would have been the responsible thing any adult would have done. But The DRUNK didn’t do that, he chose to not only endanger the lives of his children but of the other motorists on the road, and ultimately Vogt died because Diehl decided in his drunken stupor to forget reason, forget responsibility, forget common sense, and because he did so he now faces, homicide by vehicle while driving under the influence, involuntary manslaughter, aggravated assault by a vehicle while driving under the influence, leaving the scene of an accident, child endangerment and other violations. The DRUNK is going to get what he deserves. Vogt did not deserve to die because of a fender bender, and now Diehl is going to burn in hell and rightfully so.

I have to agree with you there. the guy was stupid for going after him. the kid was stupid to leave. if the cops chased him would he have run, yeah probubly so. but it was some drunk moron who chased him. i say charge him. give him some jail time maybe 4 years. then make him go out and tell everyone how stupid he was to be drinking and driving in the first place. one question though why was anyone in the car with this drunk a hole. if they were drunk to i say put them in the slammer to.

Well to all that think they know what the deal was that day let me tell you what the deal was with Joe D.Well I know this because his brother is my step dad.Let me start with this No he is not a drunk and never was.Yes he is wrong for doing what he did and he will pay for that but if you ask anyone what they would of done they would tell you (Chase his ass to a point). Now I feel bad that someone has died but also remember this person that died was drunk and in trouble all the time so its 50/50 in my book. For the people that think they know the storie please get the facts first.I know its hard but please try.

sorry people you all got the story wrong,The guy that hit the other car and took off was drunk twice the limit. He vogt was also out on bail for drug charges and endangerment of a minor, which vogt was do to go to court the next day.And vogt,s friend that was in the car with him was 18yrs old drinking with vogt and left him in the car to die alone. Why wasn,t he charged in that case for any thing like under age drinking, etc?So J. Diehl went after him and try to do the right thing, but because Vogt died of his own doing he gets manslaughter. What wrong with this system we count on to protect us???I think J. Diehl did the right thing and should not be charged at all.

Before anyone get's their panty's in a bunch J. diehl was NOT drunk or drinking I know this for a fact I'm related to him. The other driver Vogt was drunk 2 times the legal limit his bac was 17.2 and he backed into the diehl van and ran cause he had prior drug charges he was going to face and his passenger was drunk also and he was only 18 years of age so vogt would have been in serious trouble if he was caught. Vogt was doing speend in excess of 122 mph 5 seconds before impact and never hit the brakes to try to stop, vogt chose to run. and don't get me wrong I feel any death is a terrible situtation for all involved, j.diehl will have to live with this for the rest of his life and so will his family but before you convict Mr. Joe Diehl you need to read the papers, go through the archives of the news web sight before you badger this man. I want everyone who reads this to stop one second and think about this someone hits your vehicle while your waiting for your daughters food in Mc Donalds you can see that he's drunk you called the cops and they say it's a unreportable crash and the other driver get's scared and runs before you get any info on him for the damage so you go to get the plate, had this been anyone else you would have done the same thing to try to get the info for the police and by the way THE POLICE WERE ON THE PHONE WITH MR.DIEHL AND HE GAVE THEM THE PLATE NUMBER AND THEY TOLD MR. DIEHL TO GO TO THE POLICE STATION AND HE DID AS HE WAS TOLD.

EXCUSE ME !! but you need to do a little more research before you run off at the mouth, Diehl was not drunk or high this is an unfortunate accident for both parties and vogt was drunk and so was his pasenger and they were 21 and 18 so why did they run because they would have both been in trouble for underage drinking and giving alchol to a minor so not everything you hear is the truth I know this because I was at the trial and heard the testamony of everyone involved so before anyone says anything else you need to find out the facts .

To kind of mad, You were never in jail with Mr. Diehl, he was never in troble with the law.He never drank in his life. You think you know him but you don,t. If you were any type of person, you would tell the truth. But your not, You must be a friend of Vogt,s.Because it shows. If you did know Mr. Diehl, you would of known he doesn,t drink never has,and was only doing what any of us would have done. If this turned out different, and Vogt lived and was caught doing his drugs and drinking everyone would be praising Diehl. You people are stupid. If you don,t know the truth and don,t understand whats happening around you then don,t say anything. You have No idea, no clue of what happen. Sorry I have no patience for you stupid people

Daily Horoscope for December 31

Capricorn

A certain person is strong-willed with the Full Moon in your emotional house of others. It's a lunar eclipse too, so this could lead to some ructions in which everyone becomes firmly entrenched in their own opinions and refuses to acknowledge anyone else's point of view. Get the arguments out of the way early on, so you can then concentrate on having a really enjoyable New Year's Eve.
