My sister and I rent a duplex house in Moscow, we have between us 4 children who have been in NP school District for almost a good part of their school years. I moved into the house in May 2008 with my twin 14 year old sons and my sister moved in next door in June of 2008 with her 6 year old son and 12 year old daughter. There was wires burning on Monday July 14, 2008 and the fire department was called in and they called the building inspector in. Due to the fact stated by the landlord that we called the fire department in he want us to move. He said it wasn't an easy fix but has no idea what was wrong cause he hasn't had an electrician in there yet to this day. When we asked him where we were supposed to go with our children his response was he didn't care or have an answer. This man is not an upstanding citizen in moscow and should not be allowed to do this to anyone. We are two moms who pay our rent and bills and have been dealing with an idiot of a landlord who has severe bat infestation in the home which was brough to his attention several times and he said he couldn't do anything about the bats because they are protected, but there are 500 to 800 bats living there above the bedroom and the urine is seeping thru the walls. The electric problem was brought to his attention 2 months ago and again he did nothing about it. This house we found out recently was flooded about 2 years ago and he never brought the electric up to code. he insists that because we called the fire department it is our fault we have to leave. This is ridiculious since we only moved in a little over 2 months ago.
and our children start school in a month. we don't know where to turn maybe someone out there can help us . we are put up right now, by the red cross in scranton but have to leave tomorrow. we really need to find a place and fast and have no problem paying our bills.
