A tax break for people in Troy City Limits, and if in the city limits you get your passes and entries cheaper. Sounds like this only benefits you IF your inside the city limits. No biggie, I agree that it will be ruined quick, I love LC and there's a lot of great people in it, but the bad apples will destroy the fun for everyone, plus I wouldn't want to put my kid in the pool with most of the people I see at that WalMart. It is a city facility, not a county facility. If you don't like it, go swim in Lincoln Lake....oh, it's closed for e coli contamination isn't it. Too bad.

This is a City of Troy facility. The sales tax only effects folks who spend in the City of Troy. Yes, a tax break for the residents of Troy.(it is called an incentive) Wow, passes are cheaper for residents of Troy who want to utilize the Troy facility. What a craaaaazzzzy notion. Nope, it doesn't SOUND LIKE THIS ONLY BENEFITS YOU IF YOU'RE A RESIDENT OF THE CITY OF TROY, MO. IT DOES!!!

That's quite all right, I'll head to St. Charles County and enjoy what they have for swimming pools and swim in the river before I would even let my dog set foot in that lake. I'm just stating that I live less than a mile from city limits, have a Troy address, spend my money inside of Troy... I will pay the sales tax hike when I buy necessities for my family, I won't reek the benefits of a tax break, and IF I was going to buy a pass or go to the pool for the day I would pay the higher price. But I bet everyone of the people who collect their food stamps and welfare and live in the NECAC houses inside Troy city limits will somehow pull together the money to kick back at the pool everyday and "run it down" before they head home to collect their unemployment check. I have no problem with the pool, or the fact that it benefits the City of Troy, just that the few bad apples will destroy it for everyone. There is a lot of great people in Troy and the county that deserve a great place to take their kids close to home and respectfully enjoy it, I just don't think that the people who deserve it will actually get to enjoy it before the "dirty" parts of Troy take it over.

The new aquatics ctr in Troy is good for the city AND good for the county. Considering the lack of activities and other things for kids to do in this community, this is a net positive. However, we can only hope that the city and the pool management company keep the facility clean and crowds orderly. This facility is, however, a decade or more late! This could have and should have been built years ago. Sadly, it is like everything else in this community. Always late and resisted for a long time.

Hey here's something funny. How about somebody take a picture of the pool on opening day and then come back in a month and take another one to compare. I bet all the nice families are gone and replaced with hoodlums, trailer trash, and NECAC skanks.

I know people who are planning on swim lessons for their kids and having fun with their families. Maybe the good folks will outweigh the bad.

Don't let the minority ruin it for you. The new pool will be just fine. The trash referred to is just a small number when compared to the majority of folks that are good decent people.

I just looked at a picture of the new pool online..Wow is all I can say. Our town that has 4000 people in it has a way bigger pool. Heck the town that is 10 miles from us has 2000 people and it's at least double the size of the one in Troy. I will stick with our small town pools.
