Hockley County Law Enforcement Crumbling from the Outside In

A 6:00 a.m. drug bust by DEA, FBI and the Texas Rangers implicated Gordon Bohannon, Chief Sheriff's Deputy and three city police in crimes involving drug activity. It was reported that Bohannon attempted suicide, but was unsuccessful. He was transported to a Lubbock hospital. As of yet, it is unknown who the three city police officers are.

It was said that the narcotics investigator was also arrested. Does anyone know the name of this individual? I went to Levellands official website but all I could find was that there is only one narcotics investigator for the county so it should be easy to find out.

They are all on the take in Levelland, all the officer's ( sheriff & Police Depts.) are selling drugs the take from local residents. A little bit of money in there hands and you go scott free.

I love how you all speak against my father claiming that you KNOW that he is guilty or that he ATTEMPTED suicide. None of you are in the know about anything that goes on in Levelland. You are all people who have nothing better to do than sit around and spread lies and slander about a man who has dedicated his entire life to defending the people of Levelland. My father is a good man and has never had any dealings with drugs other than throwing those TRULY guilty of dealing with them in jail. Instead of talking against those that defend your rights as a citizen how about you return the favor and demand HONEST answers about what is going on.

I wouldn't go so far as to say ALL levelland cops are on the take...because there are some really good cops in levelland. I know because my Dad is also a police officer there, and he isn't locked up! I heard my whole life growing up that Bohannon was a crook...looks like it wasn't a lie.

I know there is a problem and yes I do love my father. I have been trying to seek facts about what is going on and will continue to do so. Also you say to know all the facts before I put my foot in my mouth, then how about you do the same. No one truly knows anything about this case and can only spectualate. I just ask that people stop pretending to KNOW that he is guilty or that he is dirty. Also, we all know that many innocent people get arrested before anything is truly known about the situation.

I know he didn't attempt suicide since I just got through talking to the Sheriff about him and the suicide things was in fact a rumor and my father is fine. Looks like one persons rumor got blasted out of the water. Oh and dustin(whoever you are), the fact that you say that tells me you really don't know me very well, I HATE DRUG USERS AND DEALERS. My one goal after getting out of the armed services is to go into law enforcement and become a SWAT Medic to help assist in the bust of all the scum that does drugs. Drugs ruin people and their lifes.

[Outside the box]

I met Mr. Bohannon once, he was respectful and I conversated with him about his job. He seemed to be a really cool person, he gave people breaks instead of jail time for insignificant offenses. I can't say the same of other police officers in Levelland that I've met. Most let thier power get to thier heads. I've heard from lots people that Mr. Bohannon was really down to earth.
