Does anyone know any history on the Monk statue carved out of a tree on Morton/Kedron Avenue? I really trying to find out how long it has been there.

Who cares, it's a sleazy area there anyway. Many Slavic men sweating in cut-off jean shorts. It's embarassing even being seen on Kedron Avenue with the rest of the losers at the game of life.

I don't know the history, all I can tell you is that it has been there for a long time. I believe it recently had a make-over too!

That statue was carved from the trunk of the large tree that stood there around 1998 maybe 2001. The tree was cut down to about 10 feet and the statue carved from the remains. Mr Pronisti is the owner of the property which is the 900 block of Kedron Avenue. I forgot who he said it was but I think it's a subject from the bible.
And yes, I believe because of deteriorization, it was cut off the stump and rehabbed a few years ago.
