School Threats Prompt Lockdowns Tuesday

A west suburban high school is on lockdown Tuesday afternoon as police and school officials investigate a threat of violence received by several students, the second received in two days. via NBC Channel 5

wow i went to morton from 1972 until 1977 and it was a cool school. what the hell happened

I graduated in 2002. To be honest, the school became a gang infested location. I've been told it's much better lately but when I was there, there were too many students either in a gang, or gang affiliated.

What a shame! Cicero schools used to be some of the best in the area.

Believe me it's not just Mexicans, it's everyone! I used to work in the educational system and I met a Puertorican woman with 8 kids in which each child had a dad, what do you say about that rico? And it's no BS! She even asked me if I was single, her daughter said she wasn't kidding. I've seen all parents of every color who was bad not only Mexican parents. The Puertoricans are moving in to Berwyn and I wonder how that would change the town?

I know that Mexicans do out number Puertoricans but there are cities, towns and states that Puertoricans out number Mexicans! All of the East Coast Puertoricans out number Mexicans and probably other counties too. Logan Square, Humboldt Park were invaded by Puertoricans and look how that turned out. The History channel had a documentary about Puertoricans in the Logan Square and Humboldt Park area and how they were gangbangers and starting fights with the Italians, Bohemians to take over the neighborhood and of course the whites moved out. Anyway, you know when Puertoricans move in a neighborhood blacks follow them.

And only that little area known as Ukrainian Village has remained nice all these years that's near Humblot Park. And that says a lot about Hispanics doesn't it?

I guess so, but that's good that the Ukrainian village held its ground and never left. And that's what I mean if no one leaves and stays then they will still have their town.

Morton East was a hell hole back in 1969 when I graduated. All the teachers did was train you to work in the factories which then existed in north Cicero. They didn't care about the students. They could have cared less if you went on to college or not. It was like they were ashamed to be teaching there.

Leaving Cicero was the best thing I ever did in my life!

cicero has always had problems with gangs, even b4 the mexicans came ... lets not forget the 12st Players Noble Knights Arch Dukes all white gangs .
