The headlight bandit

My car has 232,000 miles on it, a hole in the exhaust, a cracked windshield, overheats if in traffic more than 5 minutes, no radio, the air works sometimes, and one headlight is burned out. I went tonight with my wife and two kids to the grocery in my sweet ride. As I was pulling back onto our street I saw the blue lights behind me. I pulled over and rolled down my window and said to the pig "what's the problem"? "You have a headlight out", he said. I said "oh" and gave him my license and proof of insurance as instructed. He went to his pig mobile and a 2nd dousch bag showed up. I was praying that they would test my sobriety. The pig came back and handed me my license and insurance card and said "I usually give a ticket when I get an attitude". I replied, "oh well I didn't realize asking what is the problem was an attitude". He replied, "get your headlight fixed" and then he turned and left. Now my attitude is worse and I have a bitter taste obviously since I am using words like "pig". My question is as follows: Should a pig give tickets based on attitude? It's really that simple as to what is bothering me about tonight's encounter. I mean as bad as my car is well I probably make at least double the salary of this pig and could easily pay for whatever silly fine he threw at me. Why can't I have whatever attitude I want? Why do I have to be phoney and pretend that I respect this idiot? He wasn't respecting me either and there was a tone of arrogance in his voice that I didn't like. I was laughing at Morrows version of Barney Fife but at the same time I was infuriated. If he would've written that silly ticket I was thinking I would find his house and bust his headlight. That might make me feel better. Instead though I will go get a new one for my old beater in Morrow ToMorrow. The world is idiotic.

Most Morrow cops are utiliy officers and are only there to get the accredited hours needed to become police officers with real departments. They are issued uniforms, firearms and equipment needed to perform the job. Most only make $1 a year. Yes $1. Most have full time jobs elsewhere and are doing this to improve their lives.
Most of these men & women are military veterans and will be the first to come to you and your families aid when needed. So lighten up, you broke the law and did not receive a ticket for it, be happy. I also make decent money (64 grand a year) and prefer to drive what others consider a POS car. To me a car is transportaion, thats it. Just keep it legal and not give the police any excuse.

Wow $1 seriously...I was thinking 50-60k. I just can't help wondering if I were driving a late model purple minivan would I still have been pulled over? I see at least one car every 10-15 minutes driving on the road that has a headlight out. In fact, I have seen police cars with a headlight out. I am pretty light hearted and easy going most of the time and in this case I think it is the police that should "lighten up". I had a sister that was killed by some mindless twit running through a stop sign and that man got a fine and some community service hours. Barney Fife last night was borderline acting like he wanted me behind bars for being the headlight bandit. To me that wasn't even worth $1 a year. I am certain I work harder in one day than most these guys in a year and I am smarter and better looking (lol, yes I read the good looking cops and mailman post). I won't be calling them to come to my aid probably ever. I too have served this great nation where I have freedom to express my distaste for the obvious bias and indiscretion of "the long arm of the law". I do agree that both headlights should be working, but I strongly disagree that this situation required calling for back up. It was pretty funny actually. I have received 20 or so opinions on what I posted and I thought people would generally disagree with my frustrations. Surprisingly, several people have conveyed similar ridiculous encounters with the Morrow $1 buffoons.

So Sorry to hear about your sister. I also lost my sister when she was in California to a drunk driver. It is still tough and it happened in 2007.

We also have utilty cops here in Fayetteville. Our police department consist of 1 chief, 1 full time and 2 part time officers. The untily cops work for about 6 month to a year just long enough to get the accredited hours needed then they move onto the county or larger city departments.

I lived outside of Morrow for about 10 years and a good friend of mine (Steve Bishop) went thru Morrow's untily officer training, he now works for warren county. I was pulled over several times by Morrows finest for bullcrap issues, license plate light out, tail light cracked, driving on the yellow line (I was in a dually pickup truck)never receiving a ticket. I think they were looking for drunk drivers because the hours I would drive thru there. Looks like things have not changed in Morrow. LOL

It is ashame. I am sorry for your loss too. I don't mind so much being pulled over, but if the officer wants respect then address me as "sir". I don't think attitude is against the law. From what I am hearing I think Morrow needs some training. We don't even have a grocery store after all (lol read that post too). And even CVS said enough of this Mayberry. I moved here recently and only God knows why. We shall see....

It had to have been officer Roberts, he's the only one who acts like Mr billy bad ass and he's one of our new guys.someone needs to knock him down a few inches cuz he thinks he's better than everybody else.

Maybe you are right and Mr billy bad ass lol is overcompensating for his lack of a few inches in other areas. If we knock him down a few then there would be nothing left so maybe just leave it alone is best for everyone. All the mommas in heat over these shit for brain idiots though should rethink their motivations. If my math is right, half of $1 is $.050 + billy badass syndrome = a no class dousch bag with a tiny package lmao...Wow, I really do feel a whole lot better. Thanks!!

Instead of a headlight I am considering buying the following and going for the ticket with attitude approach just for fun. I think it might be newsworthy and entertaining that the headlight bandit sues the city of Morrow and wins!!! I think I want to be thrown in jail for having an attitude. Now I am not talking about disorderly conduct. I mean is it against the law to be short, rude sarcastic in tone, or just plain ambivalent? Is it against the law to call a police officer Barney Fife instead of sir? For instance, if I get pulled over again for no headlight lol and I had this camara set up...the officer comes to my window and I say "what up Barney Fife? What is the problema"? Would that be against any laws?

All shi*bags hate police. Sounds to me like you got a break, and by the your own description of your vehicle you could've been written for multiple infractions. My only wish is that the officer you're speaking of reads this post and remembers you, and the next time you drive by him in your shi*bag mobile he writes you for every infraction possible.

I don't care if they write me up for every infraction. Also, to the previous post I don't really live in Morrow. I travel domestically and stay in hotels about 250 nights every year. I drive a pos because I also have new rental cars for the same 250 nights every year so why buy a new car. If the dumbfucks can read then I hope they do read my post. They are more then welcome to write up whatever they don't have issue defending against my attorneys in court. In fact, I will throw Sherlock Holmes a bone and say the following: the headlight is still out...

I know someone who did get a ticket for a head light out. This is crazy, the cop said he had a attitude so this is why he got a ticket ( as you all know COPS are the one's with the attitude) but
they have the rights and you don't. Morrow is a town that needs all the money they can get you know there is nothing in Morrow anymore. I don't know why the even have Morrow Cops it should be turned over to Warren County like South Lebanon has. JUST SAYING!!!!!!!!!!

I know someone who recenty got a headlight ticket in Morrow also. It's going to cost $170.00 to pay the fine outside of court. If he chooses to go to court it will cost approx.$125.00. I guess the town had to increase the costs of fines to help pay for Landrum to drive the cruiser back & forth to work..not to mention I heard he lives in Clinton County. I agree with the last post about Warren County taking over & getting rid of Morrow cops (if that's what you want to call them).

I have a petition with 4323 signatures so far and some support from tv and radio media to legalize one headlight in Morrow. My stance is that nobody goes anywhere actually within the town of Morrow anyway because there is nowhere to go. Cars on the road are simply leaving town as big business won't touch Morrow. If people do walk outside they can clearly see one headlight and get out my way because I certainly can't see them. I mean c'mon I only have one headlight. Animals that come out on the road are a bonus because we need the road kill for food (no grocery). If we do make it outside of Morrow then no other officer on the planet will give two shits that the headlight is out so everybody is happy. It's a win win. Sometimes when I am completely wasted driving through town well two headlights bother my eyes and give me a migraine in the morning. It's just not worth it to have two headlights. We should all rally and really rethink the laws of this town. We could turn the police station into a speakeasy with roulette and Texas Hold Em and BAM we would have a Walmart in a month. Just Saying!!!

Landerum is good to everyone in this town, he's one of the best cops around. He saved my friends life one nite. If he gave someone a headlight ticket I'd say they mouthed off cause, and all you people who say get rid of our police has never delt with the deputy's. talk about jerks they will write tickets for anything and want to arrest someone everytime they show up

If you think Landerum is a good cop what have you done for him? or he done for you!!!! I don't know any one in town that likes him. At least if a deputy pulls you over I think you will get treated better because they have experience that is something Landrum dont have, when your a $1.00 a year cop you don't have to have much experience. So I say get some real cops!!!!!!!!!!

I guess you make the comment tht ive done something for landerum assumeing im female, well your wrong again, just sayin hes a good cop, when I've delt with him he always treated people like they treat him. You must not live in town then, Landerum is not a 1.00 a year cop. He's the Sargent and he has been for a long time. Guys that work weekends are the volunteers, So apparently you have no idea what your talking about!
