Thank you Florida, Kentucky, and Missouri, which are the first states that will require drug testing when applying for welfare. Some people are crying and calling this unconstitutional. How is this unconstitutional? It's OK to drug test people who work for their money but not those who don't? Re-post this if you'd like to see this done in all 50 states. they ought to be randomly tested to be sure they aren't using the taxpayers dollars to keep them high

i dont agree because not all jobs drug test......I've worked for YEARS and was only drug tested for 2 jobs out of NUMEROUS. and not too mention those companies front the cost!!! the state would be using OUR tax dollars to reimburse those drug test fees. FLORIDA already showed that only 2% tested positive for drugs. SO GUESS WHAT EVEN MORE MONEY OF OUR TAX DOLLARS JUST GOT WASTED ON UNNECESSARY DRUG TEST AND THEN THEY STILL COMING OUT THE POCKET FOR THE WELFARE BENEFITS! AND FLORIDA STILL BROKE AS A STATE. lets get real jus another way for our tax dollars b wasted. im not on welfare and it still makes me mad tht we are spending money on drug test but my child still doesnt have her own books at school to be abke to bring home to study and the fact tht she has more than 30 student ratio to 1 teacher because they cant afford to be fully staffed. ASS BACKWARD AMERICANS CONCENTRATING ON THE WRONG THINGS!

The cost of the drug tests should be deducted from each individuals welfare allotment.

@general robert lee.....did ur job make u pay fir your drug test??? i don't think so....obviously those families need all the help they can get and to make them pay for their own test when they can't provide for their children is ridiculous....especially if they passed. most people are for this because their job made them drug test but y'all didn't come out the pocket for the drug test....your company did. lets get real not everyone on welfare are abusing the system for drugs......case and point shown with that failure of a plan in Florida. most of y'all act like if welfare didn't exist we would have more money in our pockets! which would make y'all stupid cause everyone knows that money would just go into the pocket of greedy politicians who don't care about our citizens and definitely don't care appt our children. i would rather my tax dollars help truly needy families instead of making politicians pockets even fatter

Let's get something straight here. If you think the "company" comes out of their pocket for drug testing, you're nuts. The fact of the matter is the the company busines model is based on a total "cost package", and a "per employee" cost package. These "cost packages" include the TOTAL actual payroll, benefits, taxes, etc.... that is alloted to employees. The employee is in fact paying for these thing out of his pocket in the form of a lower wage. The company is merely passing on the remainder of the employees money on their behalf to taxes, benefits, etc...

Here is another one for you. Anyone buying insurance through an Obamacare exchange, should be drug tested.

Perspective voters should be given IQ tests with a cut off score preventing morons, imbeciles, and idiots from voting. The future of our government is to important than to allow morons, imbeciles, and idiots to decide our future. This would prevent the national debt from increasing.

I don't want my tax dollars to be used for any drug testing. It is simply none of the govrn ments buisness, next will be camaras in the bed to to see if you have sex with your wife in other than an approved position. Definitly not on my tax dollars.

Also, this just gives companys more wiggle room to deny employees benefits that they worked for for many year. Stand-up amreica your rights have been taken from you. Tomorrow I will post a text of an employee fired for taking his wife cough medicine.

Not on my tax dollars!!!!

How about testing for citizenship with your tax dollars?

Fact is...if you are required to take one to get a job to support yourself and family, then you should be required to have one if you are gonna rely on tax payers to support you and your family. True about testing for citizenship, many would be deported, as they should. They don't deserve to be here anyway.

Illegal drug use costs the law abiding tax payers, a lot of money. You want to abuse drugs, not on my tax dollars.

You are very smart. I also think the companies break even when they embark upon the "drug free workplace" they get a break on their insurance rates.

Spot on again, this is why companies don't allow or hire smokers. They get a lower rate on health insurance for their employees. Most companies could care less about their employees, it's the money, always the bottom dollar. Most managers and CEO's get bonuses based on the profits they make for their companies.

But welfare is NOT a job. People receiving welfare should be drug tested. When one is subsisting on welfare, requiring a drug test every so often is good-you get caught using drugs while on the system, you are permanently banned from ever getting welfare again. This would cause a lot of people to set up and be responsible.
