I know this police officer personally, and I would not be posting here if I did not have the utmost respect for her as an officer of the law, a member of the community, and as an individual. She was called out to my house when it was being broken into. She was really nice and managed to catch the guy (who was armed). When I see her in the neighborhood she remembers me and always asks how things are. I was sick when I heard about what happened to her. To characterize this incident as a "fight" is trivializing the events that occurred at Walmart. A police officer has a duty to intervene if he or she witnesses a crime taking place, they are not allowed to just "look the other way" if they don't want to be involved. This officer intervened when help was needed, as her oath of duty requires. She identified herself as a police officer, and a crowd of people in a community that she puts her life on the line to protect, attack her. This officer is "one of the good ones." She is respectful to people when she is out on calls, and takes the time to listen. She has a heart. We need more cops like her, and this kind of incident is exactly what causes officers who are in it for the right reasons to leave police departments. This is horrible, these people should be ashamed of themselves.
