Vanessa Pond Speaks Out

The new wife of Raven Abaroa, a person of interest in the 2005 stabbing death of his first wife Janet, has come forward with startling details about her life with the man she believes is capable of murder. Vanessa Pond, of Utah, told NC WANTED in an exclusive interview that during their short marriage, Raven was abusive both physically and mentally, profoundly deceitful, and prone to sudden, intense mood swings.

Just curious if anyone knows anything about Raven getting a high school girl pregnant at the end of 2005 when he first moved back to Utah??? She was only 17 and he had just turned 26. Please let me know....cause i dont know if this girl can say anything to help put him behind bars.

My Cousins daughter, who was pregnant at the time, was murdered four years ago on April, 26, 2005. This case has grown cold... even though the police have some very strong suspicions that the husband (who now lives in Utah with their 4 year old son)...was involved. I can't go into the details, but I'm sure you'll agree with them after you watch ABC Primetime Crime show on Wednesday, August 26, 2009.

Please help us get the word out in any way you feel inspired to... especially if you live in Utah. Please become a fan of Janet's facebook page, and then watch the ABC Primetime Crime on Wednesday, August 26, 2009 with John Quinones. You can get more details at the following URL's--

I know, as a fact that Raven got a girl pregnant pretty soon after he moved back to Utah. He was "dating" her. Hiding it. It was in 2006. As I remember it, he signed over his rights and she gave the baby up for adoption. She was in high school at the time and played on a soccer club I was associated with. I also grew up with Raven. I was stunned to find out about his wife, stunned to find out he was dating someone almost 10 years younger than him, especially so close after the murder occurred.

Wow, a friend of mine told me about the Primetime special. I went to high school with Raven and always thought he had a bit too much energy pent up inside. He bounced around the school like he was going to explode all the time. I don't know much about the case other than what I've been reading. However, I pray for Janet's family and her little boy. I hope that Raven wasn't the one that murdered her but it doesn't look too convincing otherwise. So sad.

This man was arrested in my home town the other day. He lived in Montpelier, Idaho. We had no idea about this man. No one had heard of him and, let's face it, no one moves to Montpelier unless they have family there. It was frightening! The FBI, Swat team, local and state police were surrounding his home. He is now in jail and is facing trial soon...the 17th I think.

this is just a clip from the above link:

"Janet Abaroa, 25, was found dead by her husband the night of April 26 inside her home at 2606 Ferrand Drive. Her 6-month-old son, Kaiden, was in the next room, uninjured, police said. At the time, police said there were no signs of forced entry and the crime was "not random," but they have not named any suspects.

On Tuesday, police said a laptop computer was missing from the home. They also said that on her last day, Abaroa went to pick up her son from day care, then she and her husband dropped off her car for repairs, according to a Durham police news release.

That evening, the couple hosted a friend from church at their home. About 8:30 p.m., Raven Abaroa went to Morrisville for a soccer game, the release said. About 11 p.m., he returned and found his wife dead, kneeling on the floor of a bedroom, according a medical examiner's report."

What interests me is no one has ever come forward to say I was in Morrisville playing soccer too.

Anyone out there play soccer in a pick up game on April 26 from around 8:30pm until 11:00pm with a guy named Raven?

I would dearly love to find anyone who can honestly say they saw him playing soccer that night. It would be much easier to believe he had nothing to do with this murder. There are so many things that point striaght to Janet's husband Raven that I seriously doubt it could have been anyone else.
In one article I read it was the Home Teachers. In the LDS faith it's unusual for 1 person to visit. They're usually in pairs. Typically Home Teachers are male and they work with the family as a whole. Visiting Teachers, again in pairs are female and work the woman in the house. Even the Bishop only visits with one or both members of the Bishopric. This is so that there is never an accusation of impropriety. So either the reporting is wrong the visitor wasn't officially on church activities.
