Why is there so much of this stuff here? First Baptist, Holiday Inns, Animal Shelter, the dump, suspicious fires, city tax office, and on and on. And neighboring counties are not any better, esp. Knox and Cocke. What on earth happened in this part of the country to create so many dishonest people?

People need to stop being afraid to call a spade a spade. When the $1.5 million embezzlement happened at First Baptist, Dr. Haun said in a news article that members decided to tithe twice what they had been to help make up for the loss that insurance didn't cover. Insurance covered a million. The embezzler was dishonest, the church had no checks and balances or controls in place to manage money, and what happened to the embezzler?

There was a recent case a couple months ago of a person working for a local insurance company who submitted altered documents to BCBS and lost her license. A commercial realtor 4 years ago charged with using escrow monies. James Drinnon pawn fraud just recently. Mark Sawyer (whose former father-in-law is on the MUS utility board) awaiting sentencing in federal district court for asbestos cleanup at Liberty Fibers. There are so many, it's hard to keep count. And our so-called "paper" doesn't always report all cases or provide details that would inform the public about how serious this is in our community.

Other than the Citizens Tribune bring completely worthless, there is no journalistic integrity. If you want to know what is going on in Morristown, contact WATE in Knoxville. They are not afraid of reporting the news.

Per capita, this area is easily the most corrupt and dishonest place that I have lived or traveled in the US.

Why did her son, Michael get a 51 month sentence where she, Barbara, the embezzler only received only 44 months? Think about it: she wrote some 1,600 checks to herself, average of about 1,000, each a felony over a three year period (that is what they know about). This scheme wasn't a slip of the conscience, this was a deliberate scheme over 3 year period to defraud the church of a fortune. She is a thief, liar, con, and a whole lot of other wicked things. Some portrayed her as this sweet old lady but she likely has been cheating the church for years and they just don't know it.

Something bad is in the water around here.

And here's a few more:
Morristown woman using St. Jude to scam people, just 10 days ago:
http://www.local8now.com/home/headlines/St-Ju...

Embezzlement from Dr. Marilyn Gordon's office about six or seven years ago. The mother of the man who embezzled from the Hamblen County landfill was also involved in theft years earlier.

Michael Jarnigan who was going to run against Stancill Ford in this primary withdrew, he said, because of illness, which may be true. However, he was involved in a criminal act years earlier that was brought to light recently on Topix from old newspaper articles.

The internet and public databases make it possible to uncover all kinds of information from anyone's past. Potential thieves should remember this.

There are more churches here per capita than anywhere else I know of. Why are people not praying for the corruption, pills, illegals to go away?

Most of these churches, esp. the big ones, have websites with contact info for prayer requests. Let's inundate them with requests to pray for honest leaders who will serve the public, not just the moneyed few. http://www.fbcmtn.com/content.cfm...

There are several others but this is a start. FBC and Manley are the main ones.

What about the mental health associates place here in town under investigation for major insurance fraud of nursing homes. Supposedly, they are billing insurance for elderly mental health services in nursing homes but not actually providing the service. What? You didn't know about it? Don't feel bad, the paper has not reported about this. I hear it's MILLIONS! It's a little unassuming, independent office right in the middle of town. By the way, before the haters start...it is NOT Christian or religious based.

This town is cesspool. Thieves, drug addicts, perverts and idiots. And those are the folks in leadership. Seems like the homosexuals are in every agency and office in this town. They work with kids,in places where body fluids (blood) spilleage is common, and now with the poor animals. We have theives who take and take, then get nothing resembling punishment ! One of em, initials RI is out of the Hamblen county bed and breakfast, looking for employment. If any one questions ANY of this they risk losing their job for fear of offending someone. Drugs, perverts and corruption should be the slogan on the City Limits signs welcoming people to our little town. My point.....if you arent upright in your personal life, how can you be trusted in your public life. Now rail against all I have said, its okay. It will just just make my point. You either have morals,or you dont. There is good and evil, and woe be to the one who calls evil good and good evil......there is truth and there are lies.....right and wrong. Just the way it is ! Always has been, always will be. God bless those who know the difference, and God help those who dont.
