I hope that it is worth it. This country needs stiffer gun control laws and what happened today in Connecticut is why! If a tragedy like this happened at Manley, Alpha, Union Heights, etc and it was you or your loved ones affected, then would you change your stance on gun control?
the gun he used belonged to someone else. how would stricter gun laws help?

Any gun control would be a moot point, how would they control all the guns already out there? Bet are more undocumented guns than they are documented, More people are killed by cars, just not on propose,

IMO, the media is giving people who commits these horrible things all their attention, makes me wonder if its something they want, to be remembered for in a sick way? Just a thought.

Some us dumb rednecks know the truth on important matters. Psychiatric drugs are the problem and not guns. Just wait and see if these killers aren't found to ahve been on mind altering drugs such as zoloft. The batman movie killers and Colombine killers were on these big pharma pills from hell. These anti depression drugs cause one to have anger outburst and thoughts of suicide. What we need in schools are trained teacher to carry guns to kill these legal pill heads before they kill them. Guns don't take pills or pull their triggers! The government gives legal drugs like ritilin that cause kids to be drug addicts when they leave school. Big bucks made by big pharma's drugs from hell is the problem and not guns!

I agree, and there are a bunch of people taking them too. Many are taking a second drug to counteract the effects of the first drug. The crazy pills are making people crazier than they already are.

Over 100,000 military men and women are given these mind altering psychiatric drugs. This is why the suicide rate is so high and why they have so many problems when they get out. Our government doesn't care as long as big pharma pads their pockets to keep these drugs legal.

So it's decided, by making guns completely illegal the problem will be solved.
Lets make drugs illegal too while we're at it. That way there will be no more senseless OD's or drug related murders, thefts, etc.
I suppose we should make drunk driving Illegal as well. That would definitely stop the ridiculous amount of deaths attributed to impaired driving.
I'm a redneck, hillbilly hick but I have to agree with you hippie types. the only way to stop a problem is to make it illegal...pfft

Attention Attention Attention Attention Attention Attention I have something to say!

The tragic shooting at Newtown Ct, I thank it was done by our government. Obama conspiracy, in order to get more leverage to condemn our guns. This would be about like Obama. I wonder if any one might thought this is what’s going on. Obama is getting a lot of political attention out of this.

Where is the fat obese Mikey Moore on this, time to do another fake documentary. He may need more guns and body guards with more mental insane people running around today. What happened to the safe American society of yesterday?
Will hollywood and liberal television stop the violence they produce 24/7 365 days a year?

Amen! He's for gun control but I have never heard him mention stricter regulations for legal prescription mind altering psychiatric drugs that big pharma is getting rich on that these killers are nearly always on. Fox news wouldn't touch the truth on what's really going on with these shootings!

I would believe that the unstable person committing the atrocity is more to blame than the weapon or weapons used. With enough money and determination anyone can find what they're looking for albeit it any firearm or drug from off the street. The media is always quick to blast the firearms used in any mass shooting committed by any lunatic behind the trigger.First it's always the usual "assault weapon" cliche referring of course to any firearm capable of firing multiple rounds every time the trigger is independently squeezed depending on magazine capacity or clip capacity.
Keep in mind that this also could apply to your average .22 caliber small varmint rifle if it just happens to include a long clip.Next it will include your 20 or 12 gauge semi automatic with the cork removed. The media knows that the term "assault rifle" sounds more threatening and more terrifying to the unknowing public that has never been around any type of firearm OR for those that believe that law enforcement or the military are the only ones who should have access to firearms.

The only gun control we need is both hands to keep it steady as you are shooting your targets whatever they may be.

Things to do to stop this kind of thing:

This kid was known to be mentally ill..Asberger's Syndrome. Maybe we should exterminate the mentally ill?

Timothy McVeigh though was not mentally ill; he learned how to make a bomb out of deisel fuel and fertilize. Maybe we should ban libraries and the Internet?

None of these mass murderers were God-fearing Christians. They thought they could do whatever they wanted without the threat of Divine Retribution. Maybe we should get rid of all the atheists?

Getting rid of guns will not solve this problem; the short list above might.

Gun laws are in place just as many other laws are in place. The problems is with people breaking the laws.
Doing away with all guns will not stop the crazy insane society life people choose everyday. America has chosen to turn from God and do their own thing. Read the history in the Bible and every time the same results.

I agree with you. But if you take this for example, Batman Aurora, Colorado..
that shooting. There was 3 licensed permitted gun carriers in that theater. But there was a sign at the door, "No Fire arms" the 3 licensed permitted gun carriers obey the sign and left there guns in there car. So basically the theater was saying," The good guy's can't pack there guns in my building....." The bad guy's don't care, they are going to pack any ways. If the permitted carries were allowed to pack, one of them could have took out the shooter, and saving many lives. Just say~!! this is fact.

These killers were on mind altering psychiatric drugs. Guns don't do drugs that cause outbursts of anger and thoughts of suicide. Killers do!

Why don't we just sue Pfizer, Roche, and every other drug maker. These drugs are designed to help the people, so they can live as close to a normal life as possible. Should we just lock them up and throw away the key? You're probably dumb enough to believe that mental illnesses don't exist b/c you have read it on the internet. I can promise you that there are more people that are reading these threads that are on antidepressant or mood stabilizing agents then you would care to believe. They are not shooting up Morristown.

Put everyone to work or you don't eat and watch these problems go away. The drug companies and doctors who prescribe these drugs at will need stricter laws, not more gun laws. We have enough gun laws already. Why have gun sales been record highs after the president took office 4 years ago and are still having record sales today. Are people scared?

If a law was passed that everyone had to give up their guns, who would be willing or crazy enough to go knock on someone's door and say we are here to take your guns away? Talk about a revolution.

I'm just dumb enough to know real people that these psychiatric mind altering drugs have made crazy enough to threaten to kill others and try to kill themselves.
