Well, there's no reason that these substances should require permission from somebody else to buy or use, the whole prescription system is just a scam to funnel more money to people who are already rich..
you should be able to walk into a pharmacy and buy whatever ya want, be it penicillin, Oxycontin, marijuana or heroin...there is nothing in the constitution that allows the government to limit what substances you put in your body, there was for a short while, but it was defeated by another amendment,...but hey...alcohol prohibition worked out soooo well, i meen, it decreased alcohol use and made everybody safer......right?
while we're at it why don't we just profit off of all the kids the pillheads and the heroin addicts bring in to trade for the drugs.I mean theres nothing in the constitution that says we can't sell our kids for our addictions or anything else for that matter. Why not just be able to go in and get what we want..trade what we want..do what we want.Let freedom ring!

Prescription Drugs are out of control!!! I have lost someone very dear to me and it is all due to drugs. A doctor giving him something that he didn't even need and now he is dead. People say all the time they are just dope heads, people just don't understand some people don't mean to get hooked on pain meds. And no one knows what it is like until you have someone you love in that situation. Loosing my uncle has been the hardest thing I have ever had to go through in my life. My prayers go out to families who have to go through this!!!!

One year I went for my annual physical. During my initial medical history interview- doc looked at me and said "is there anything you need" I sat there and thought good lord does this mean I can ask for whatever drug I might want and get it. I left there and never went back - I figured if it was that easy to get drugs it was hard to tell what medical condition they said I had and what "dope" they might actually put me on.

if the doctors in morristown would require random pill counts this problem would not be so bad.

As someone who prescribes, my philosophy is don't write them in the first place and I won't have to get a drug screen which will 90 percent of the time be positive for other substances.

LOL...well he's a Doctor...typographical error but you wouldn't know cause you don't live here. I agree I have heard a lot of both doctor's prescribing pain meds but while some of the patients are going there and selling their meds...there are probably some that actually need it. Also, there's a dentist that you can actually go to in Jeff City if you want to have a tooth pulled that will give you pain meds so don't pin it all on the docs here in morristown.

The good doctors do that. But the bad thing is is that the patients know how much they have to have when they go back for the pill check so sometimes if they really don't need them they will sell thim and get good money for them. The doctos should make them "unknown" and call them at the last minute and have them come in within 15 minutes of the call.

I had injections at Tennesse Pain Consultants and was seen by Dr. John Silcox who is a chiropractor and puts him self out to be a medical doctor and a nurse practitioner. The injections were done by the nurse practitioner with Dr. Silcox working the c-arm. The injections made me worse. When the bill came from the insurance company it had Dr. Wayne Mclemore's name on it. He never saw me and was not there when the injections were done. I contacted my insurance carrier and they said that it is fraud to bill for a nurse practitoner doing a procedure when the doctor has never seen the patient and was not there to supervise. I have reported Dr. Mclemore and Dr. Silcox to the state and the fraud hotline. Dr. Silcox is fee-spliting with Dr. Mclemore which is a felony. Any one else have experience with Tennesse pain Consultants?

There's nothing to stop a physician from writing a prescription to someone who comes in with the wrong identity/someone else's card, etc...And most people on narcotics are addicted, that's the nature of the drugs. If they sell, them, how does that make the doctor liable? That's like charging the guy with murder if he sells a gun to someone who uses it to kill someone. Pain is very hard to dis-prove.
I'm not addicted to the narcotics. I'm addicted to not being in pain. It sucks being in pain 24/7. Try it. You wouldn't like it. I'd rather be playing with my children, running like I used to, or give my daughter piggyback rides like I did my son. There are people who abuse the system everywhere. Not EVERYONE is an addict

You are absolutely right. I have a friend that goes to PC in a different town and she has pill counts on each visit, random visits, unannounced urine draw....following the law to the letter...never any problems and she's been going for several years. She has many health issues and is senior citizen. Don't know anything about Morristown but I do know the mds in the county I live do not write scripts for pain meds. You are referred to a pain clinic.

I am new to the area and both he and Dr. Moody have been recommended for my children. So would you care to explain your comment?

How is Dr. Crossley a crook? I have never had anything but pleasant experiences with him caring for both of my kids teeth. The whole staff is great. I took my oldest to Dr. Moody first but didn't care for his assistants bedside manner, so I decided to go to Dr. Crossley and my son has went there for 9 years, and has never been "afraid" to go.

It is not illegal for a nurse practitioner to perform procedures, but if the physician is not on site, she has to bill under her name and UPIN number.

New: for the record... Dr. Crossley was my Dentist all through childhood. I never had a problem with him. He actually was my favorite dentist and always made me feel comfortable.

Tenncare does not pay for nurse practitioners to do certain things like injectons under c-arm. Therefore if Dr. Mclemore is billing under his name when he is not there it is fraud!

I worked with the US Marshall when they took over Dr. Hale's office. Did he ever get out of jail? I used to live near his son too. Fernando.
