The dirt is they should be closed down...ALL pain clinics. If you can't get medication from your family doctor, forget it. Why do we need to go to 'pain' clinics to get medications? If we have a bad back, let's see someone who can fix it. If someone can't fix it, then let's go back to our family doctor and let them 'doctor' us. We don't need to be pumped full of pain medication. What happens when it stops working, and it WILL stop working at some point. You have to keep upping the dosage to be effective and after time, what's going to happen when you reach the highest pain dose possible? You're still going to have the problem, only this time you are not going to be able to get relief for it.

I hope she finds some other way to get help besides a pain clinic. I don't think there's anything good to say about any pain clinic. Whatever you've heard is probably correct.

i go to a pian clinic in knox. you may not see the use for them but there is. i used my family doctor for 6 years to treat my pain. i am with you on the fixing the promblem that causes the pain. i am 41 and have already had a knee replacment. i need i new one and there is not a doctor will do it till i am at least 60. i have saw 5 differant doctor and they all say the same thing. i am too young for a second knee replacement. so i have no coice but take meds for the pain. as i said before i did it threw my family dr for years. but the laws are cracking down so bad that he told me i was going to have to use a pain clinic. i hated the thought of it till i went. the dr i see has gotten me a new brace and a tens unit and a heat/cold system. i have better movement and take less meds than i have in years. i know there are so many people that abuse these meds. i hate that for them and thier familys. but there are people out here that need these meds that dont abuse them or sell them. they give us some kind of life back! as far as the family dr goes. they dont know enough about these meds or real pain to be giving these meds out at all.

well i am not by far dogging all pain clinics, it was just this particular one that im talking about that ive heard so many bad things about, my mom is definitely gonna need somebody to take care of her pain, she has fibromialgia, i think thats how you spell it lol. and alot of other issues, so it may be what she needs. i just want her at the right one, with a doctor who cares, and is not just gonna talk to her for 5 minutes, and write her a script for roxicodone, like all the others. she needs someone to listen as well as take care of her problem, you know? if u can recommend someone that would be greatly appreciated!! thanks for your comments!

My brother-in-law had to have a hip replacement, but he was in his early 40's and no doctor would do it. Someone finally agreed to do it after he had a heart attack and couldn't exercise because of his hip, but he had to wait til after he got over open heart surgery. He does not live in M-town...don't know where he went, but what a shame he didn't get results until it was life or death. I don't understand that...I'd rather get a 2nd knee replacement at an early age when I can still do fun things. Who knows...in 20 more years there may be something better out there for people who need more surgeries.

I still don't think pain clinics are needed to give out pain meds. I think the doctors who tell you they can't do surgery ought to be able to write prescriptions. It still doesn't answer the question of what happens when you reach the maximum dosage, does it?

Those drugs 'healthy' people are hooked on were originally intended for cancer patients. If anyone should have them...your mother should be able to get them. Bless your heart and hers. I am a cancer survivor, but I don't have to deal with fibromyalgia. I know it's not a nice thing.
Best wishes for you both.

Unless the agenda has changed, this clinic uses the Vax D system. This is where you lay on a table and it stretches out your body to help your spine realign itself and help the nerves. There is a wonderful reflexologist in Rogersville who does about the same thing but she does it by hand. I would recommend Karen Silvers. She is great. It hurts but it is a "good"hurt". she really knows her stuff.

did they not use something like this in the middle ages .......... the rack... as for the pain clinics my family doctor is the one whom referred me to it.. as it is pain management .. not a dope dealer.. they also do rehab of your injury and alternative methods .. i hate pain pills.. i do not like to be "drugged out" but when you live with chronic pain.. you must choose.. a balance and quality of life within your limits and expectations .. yes there are allot of "clinic dope dealers" as fla is famous for them.. now i could forgo the clinic and cash in on the disability rating i have.. but i choose not to and work as the quality of life i wish to have is to work and remain productive as long as possible.. i received my rating 15 years ago.. and declined to use it...i work everyday.. i can not do what i used to do but i have adapted,, and re-trained myself.. without the pain clinic and the therapeutic treatment i would be forced to use social security disability..like anything else in this society some abuse the things available ..

Well, let me start by saying this, yes, there is a NEED for pain clinics for the simple fact that no regular Physician will write pain meds. anymore! I am 44 and I suffer with Spinabifida, Fibromialgia, diabetic neuropathy, and all the cartilage that is suppose to be between the bones that aline your spine has deteriorated to nothing! I am in constant pain, not only do I take the meds. I also take the steroid injections in my back, which help, but do not relieve all the pain! As far as Tennessee pain consultants, unfortunatley I go there for now untill I can get in somewhere else! They are nasty and rude, they do NOT care about thier patients! The worst thing about them is that last month when it snowed, my app. was that day, I couldnt be seen b/c nobody was there to sign scripts, nor would they call my meds in, then this month they called to reschedule my app. for a week LATER, so I will be out of my meds for a week! These are meds that are not suppose to be stopped suddenly, I dont see how they can get by with that! They have had 10 people walk out on them (office workers & fnp) in the last month! In my opinion, they need to get rid of Kim who is the office manager, and Amanda that works up front, they are why everyone is leaving there, and to be quiet frank, they are both BITCH'S!!!! Best believe when I find a new clinic to get in, I will never go back there! They are a lawsuit waiting to happen!!!! If anyone knows of another pain clinic, please let me know, I have too many health issues to keep going through this bs with these quacks!!!!

How dare you talk about them this way. If anyone that knows them sees this Ihope they tell them about it and maybe with the info you revealed about your recent dealings with them there they can figure out who you are and kick your complaing ass to the curb.
And oh yeah, Fibromialgia doesn't even exist, so you just proved you're a drug seeking loser.

Out of everything you wrote there is only one sentence I want to address. The sentence where you said Fibromyalgia does not exist...Where did you come up with this information? I would love to know. Because, I know you didn't read that in any medical book or article or on any respectable on-line site. So, the only other choice I can think of is, Did it come from the voices inside your head? It sounds like it, because you are full of shit! It is real and unless you live with it 24 hours a day, then honey, you have no right to talk about what does or doesn't exist! Fibromyalgia is the one thing I would not wish on anyone, but you are really pushing my wishes, with ignorant statements saying, Fibro doesn't exist! Now please, I really want to know, where did you get your information at? I want to see what you read, so I can try to explain it to you.

"Assuming" there is a employee at this Pain Clinic, and If they would get rid of this employee that's a out of control drug addict herself it would be a much better place.

I think this should not even be allowed, a employee in a Pain Clinic on drugs (pain pills, ect..) to begin with. Runs around screaming at people, can't sit still, the wild look in her eyes, talking about others as if they were dogs. It's VERY clear she has a bad drug problem.

If looked into this person would not be allowed to even work in ANY Medical Office.
A drug test would put her out the door and if it's from one the Doctors that work there they would be gone also.

LoL, you thought you could backsass her and you got shown the door. I and the rest of us who go there all supported her against you and we all told the managment that.
Why haven't you gotten over this yet? Lol, good grief you are one pathetic wretch.
And you better quit getting on here and badmouthing people, hon. Remember, your contact information is known (hint).
