There is a known drug dealer living up the street from me, the police know him and know that he sells drugs (hydros, oxys) there are cars in and out of that drive way all day and all night and his business has really picked up since those arrests a few months ago.

A few years ago I spoke with the head of the drug tasks force of Morristown about this situation, he said that he did know who I was referring to and if I wanted I could take pics of the cars and their license plates - what? are you kidding me? yeah right I am going to stand in my yard and snap photos of hardened criminals and drugged out rednecks while the police sit on their asses and do nothing!!

Once, there was a fight over there, the police came and took the guy to jail, there was a cruiser still parked there after the others had left, I walked up and said you know, while you're there you should search the premises - he said, ah, we know about him, he's small time, small time? Seriously? He has at least 40-60 visitors a day everyday but he's small time????

It's because Morristown is CORRUPT and the police are in on the take! Pill use in this town is out of control!

How many people need to die from drug overdoses before someone closes up drug dealing in Hamblen County?

I certainly understand your frustration. I know a LOT of people affected by this Humongous problem. Not just the individual is affected, but family and friends have to sit and watch the demise of someone they love.

I realize the obvious revolving jail door is very appealing to city and county authorities who are constantly trying to raise revenue, but come on....enough is enough. We need to stop these drugs!!!

This guy never even gets arrested, as a matter of fact cop cars drive down this street all the time as a thru street and they dont even look that way. I cannot believe they wanted me to risk my safety while they do absolutely nothing. I do not believe there is such a thing s too small time when it comes to drug dealing between the drugs and the mexicans, I cannot stand here anymore.

No one is arguing that but to assert that the cops are on the take is ludicrous.

Thank you! Believe me I know pill use is out of control. I deal with it every day and do the best job I can. To say we are on the take could not be further from the truth. I care tremendously about this town and the people that live here but there's only so much we (police) can do.

If they are selling pills like you say then they probably are not dealing with mexicans. Likely the person above them is a doctor which is a problem police have been running into alot here lately and they are pretty helpless. When cops arrest drug dealers they do it to try and root out a source, but all that is irrelevant when they arrest someone for oxy's prescribed by a doctor in Florida out of their jurisdiction.

Fact is Morristown jail is ridiculously overcrowded and police are having to ask themselves if they are making the best use of space. I know of people on probation that for some damn reason wont get violated even though they seem hell bent on doing so. I know 5 years ago one failed urine test would get you back in jail, but things are different now and unless they have to the cops do not want to violate anyone.

Also, i think cops should focus on Pills, Cocaine, and heroin. I think people who sell pot should get a pass. Marijuana is not bad for people or the community and i think its a violation of the constitution to even have a law making Marijuana illegal on the books.

The person "(BLUNT)" is just a troll on here trying to talk crap on morristown because her child freaked out on Chuck Carter and so she wants to sue the school board and Morristown because we are all obviously corrupt. No rational person would/could think any police officer in morristown is "On the take". Sounds like they watch to many movies if you ask me.

that being said i wish they would just take Oxy's off the market. The pharmaceutical companies HAVE to know why they are selling so many oxy's i mean just think of how many they have to produce to keep so many addicts active at any one time is insane. I wish they could be held responsible.

I agree they should take oxy's off the market. Why hasn't that been done yet....$$$...that's why. The pharmaceutical companies are making a killing off of them and they'll keep doing it because they are highly addictive.
They don't care how many lives are ruined as long as they make their money.

I know of good cops and bad ones. I think you're right..people scoff at the police dept. because they think they're not doing their jobs, but how about this....cops can arrest people all day, but in essence, whose job is it to keep people locked up? Why are our judges constantly releasing people or 'giving them more chance' to do something they KNOW the person is not going to do?
Personally, I think it's to keep them in and out of the court system to get money.
I say if you really want a booming career in this area, be a bail bondsman.
Yes, the jail is overcrowded, but I know of at least one person who thinks he is 'untouchable' in Hamblen County because he's a snitch. He's been arrested several times since January and probably has never even spent 24 hours in jail because his girlfiend bails him out. I've never even seen where he's been in court in the crime beat section of the newspaper.

well what are they then? if they refuse to arrest known drug dealers - they might as well be on the take because they are not doing their jobs and they are allowing this town to go directly to the dogs!!! MARK MY WORDS, 20 YEARS FROM NOW MORRISTOWN WILL BE A COMPLETE SHIT HOLE.

Answer me this, please: If there are so many alleged snitches in Morristown why is there still so much drug activity? I was at the car wash a couple of Saturdays ago...the one on Main Street near Berkline, and I saw with my own eyes a boy and girl sitting in a car measuring out what looked to be cocaine. They had their door open. I acted like I wasn't paying attention, but by the time I realized what they were doing and went back around the truck to get my cell phone so I could call police, they left. I didn't get their tag number and I really figured nothing would be done so I didn't bother. I didn't have any information to give other than what I saw.
So....if people are so brazen to do that stuff out in public with their car doors open then WHY aren't more people busted?
If people are seeing this stuff in their neighborhoods and the police say they are aware of it going on then why isn't it stopped?
People are not happy with it happening down the street or next door not only because it's BREAKING THE LAW, but because of the HOME INVASIONS associated with it. People selling drugs and doing drugs get desperate for money so they have to resort to stealing. I wouldn't want my home to be the next target, would you?

if they continued to arrest them the town would have to do something about overpopulation - it doesnt matter what the judge does ultimately they continued to arrest and arrest and arrest (which is their JOB) the judges and the town would have to step up their game, you dont just let all these crimes go unpunished just to appease a cheap ass town and some fat lazy judges - what the hell good does that do? NONE. The cops need to arrest everyone needing arrested and put any burden back on the city and county government where it belongs plus if drug dealers knew they couldnt get away with it as easily in this town, oh my guess what.... they'd move somewhere else!
