Which one is better in your opinion?

I don't like Food Lion, Ingles is too expensive and Save A Lot, their food is just nasty. I like the Food City on West AJ, the employees there are real friendly but I don't like the other two Food City's.

Ingles are clean (both of them). They double your coupons every day so if you cut coupons you can save more money than at the others. The Food City in the middle of town has the best meat selection. Wal-Mart is cheaper on a lot of things, but I am against them because we need to support the "smaller" businesses or else they will all be gone.

I like Ingles the best. The Sav-a-Lot store smells so bad I can't shop there. I don't know how anyone that works there can take the odor all day long. Food City is okay but the store is too dark and I hate to be in there for more than a minute.

Love Ingles meat dept. Food City also. Save-A-Lot used to save you money on can goods, and they were good. Went there last week and didn't see a great differene in them and the other stores. I mainly shop at Wal-Mart.

Ingles is the most expensive. I guess if they give double value for coupons it makes up for it.(Assuming you have the coupons) Food City or Wal-Mart is the cheapest. I prefer Food City becaue the meat selection (West End) is awesome and I hate Wal-Mart!

I usually shop at Ingles because it is the closest to my house. They only double coupons up to $.50. It does seem that Food City is a bit cheaper. Wal-Mart is definitely the cheapest and the one in Jeff City is not too terribly crowded so I go there ocassionally. I don't go to Sav-a-lot although my husband does sometimes and says it is much cheaper. I would say if price is much more important to you than quality then Sav-a-lot is a good place.
Food Lion is terrible with coupons. I will never go back there. They made me feel like a criminal although I went to one in Myrtle Beach that were super nice.

I have not been in Sav-a-Lot recentlys However, I did do some price checking in there once on items that I buy and their price was exactly the same of Food Lion.

I prefer Food City on the west end. I only shop Food Lion when they have sales on soft drinks, detergent and toilet paper. I will not buy meat from them. I was in Wal Mart yesterday and bought a few things. Realized on the way home I had forgotten a couple of things, stopped at Ingles as it is closer to my house and the 2 things I forgot were actually cheaper at Ingles than at Wal Mart. I was surprised. I haven't been in Sav-a-lot in years. Last time I was their it was nasty.

The only Sav a Lot I have ever been in is just plain nasty. The floors are black from dirt. The entire store is just dirty. Boxes were stacked on the floor with the cans of food in them for you to get out yourself. Everything was just dirty. Nothing in the store but generics to choose from. That was several years ago and I have not been in one since.

I am a big time coupon user also and have had cashiers get irritated if i have a lot of coupons.
Most of them act like the money is coming out of their personal pocket. Especially if you have a coupon to get a product for free or for $1 or $2 off. Those are my favorite.

BTW - I am pretty quick to tell them to call a manager if they want to give me crap about a coupon. The coupons are valid and they need to scan them and go on. I refuse to let them make me feel like a second class citizen or welfare bum because I am using coupons.

Sometimes I think cashiers just don't want to put forth the effort to scan them and tell you the total for a 2nd time.

I've never been in Sav-a-Lot so I can't say anything about them, but when Food Lion has a sale it"s usually pretty good. Ingles prices are a little high on some things, sometimes they are cheaper and they certainly have the best selection. Wal-mart is the cheapest on the can goods, and Food City has the absolute best meat in town. Too bad we can't make one store with the best qualities from each of these!!!! I have found that no matter what you buy your receipts from each store are about the same. What one has on sale is higher somewhere else, but somewhere else what was higher at the other is on sale, so it evens itself out.

How is ingles the most expensive? The bread there is couple cents cheaper than food city?

I prefer Ingles on the west end.

Yes, me too! I used to never use coupons and then when I had baby #2 I was on some baby forums talking about almost free diapers and formula. Once I realized all the free stuff I could get I was hooked!:) It is now kind of a hobby for me. I never pay for any personal goods such as razors and shampoo or cleaning products or toilet paper. I love it! I am not as bold as you though. I will try and argue a bit but almost always back down. I guess I am just too non-confrontational. It does make me very mad though. What about when they try to argue and say one per purchase means one per transaction? I have tried to explain that each thing you buy is a purchase but some of them just don't get it. Oh well, I am sure some people would rather not be bothered by us couponers but in my opinion we are the smart ones. ;)

Wow - you have to combine them with store sales. The best places are CVS and Walgreens. You can use the ExtraCare bucks and Register Rewards to get them. You build those by buying things that are money makers and rolling them into other things each week. I won't elaborate anymore because I am at work but you can check out hotcouponworld.com for more details. There is no kind of fees for using it. I love free and this site has some great bargain hunters on it. Never pay for a site!

Has anyone been to a Aldi store?I wish we would get one close to M'town.Love their prices and I have never bought anything from there that we did not like. They do not carry name brands. Also you don't have the spoiled meat smell like you do at Sav-a-lot.
