Hey, out of curiosity, who are the staff writers and photographers there now? Used to work there a few years back and I'm curious about the turnaround since I left (I know there have been a ton of changes).

Sports is almost an afterthought with the trib. And the political cartoonist must be the absolute bottom of the barrel; does not even draw very well. I have to check crimebeat and the obits just to find something to read.

OTOH, Thomas Sowell is quite good. He must come cheap.......

The C/T is a joke. It's what 5 pages long? Gee you would think it was the Sneedville or Bulls Gap paper. I don't have a clue what's up with the website either. You can't read the entire article now. Funny that all the large cities newspapers are pretty much on line. Guess I'll have to read Knox news everyday to find out and keep up with what's going on in Morristown. My question is - why do we continue to put up with all this small town hickville crap that Morristown has to offer. Maybe we all should move to California---- maybe that Troll on one of the topix issues would let us live with him.

I will respectfully take exception with you on that one. Many folks that regularly post on this forum are paying for their internet access with the paycheck from a company that Jack recruited and brought to this town. Names like Dwight Nelson and Jack Fishman should mean one thing in this discussion....jobs, jobs, jobs. On a pertsonal level, I am aware of many good deeds that have been accomplished by this person...and i will remain silent as they would be embarrassing if aired out on a public forum. As for the newspaper, that is an industry that is suffering everywhere. I personally read several newspapers each day online......free. THAT, is but one aspect of the problem of the local newspaper business. We would all be wise to support the newspaper business, as they are in many cases the sole watch dog of our esteemed politicians. If the papers are gone....there goes the accountability. For the record, I am not a journalist nor a family member of the Fishman family, but I appreciate what they have contributed to the local economy and to those in need. Have a good day

Would you be so kind as to tell us ONE factory that "Jack recruited"? Even if he were Henry Ford,I still think he is a pompous little jerk.If anyone wanted to start a Morristown paper, contact Dr Crampton Helms.I believe his family still has the printing presses of the newspaper before Fishman came to town.

A story this week talked about how much money the city had made off the red light cameras. It failed to mention how much money left town and went to Redflex. Was this an oversight or managed news. That money is gone from the local economy, I think people would like to know how much.

It's always been that way. Take out the ridiculously bad writing, grammatical idiocies, spelling aberrations and downright lunacy and all you've got it ads, and now people are catching on that print ads are expensive and ineffective since the news is all on the internet, so not many people are bothering to read newspapers and television advertising is less expensive and infinitely more effective, so what's left? Just a few stock AP wire stories that are already on Yahoo ...
I agree to an extent. But keep three things in mind. 1. Someone in the community is providing the info to the paper. Reporters dont just pull it out of thin air. If it is wrong, is it the papers fault or do we have a dumb community???? 2. Even in a small paper during the week, consider how much writig goes into it, and that it is written over a 24 hour time span. Yes, there will be grammatical errors. If the average person did it from the community, consider how many mistakes there would be. Need proof? Read any comment on Topix for the level of education of the ocmmunity. 3. People complain that it doesnt contain much information. Duh??? News is news, what do you want them to write baout when nothing is going on.......Think about it!

Come on, the Tribune is GREAT. I don't know what I would do without being able to keep up with "Life in a Cat house" great writing Stan-keep up the good work. Please don't start reporting on something important like Mark Sawyer's run in with the EPA, etc.

The Citizen Tribune is a semi local paper? It started in 1966. It's still in Morristown and owned by Morristown residents. Not Tullahoma. Where did you get your facts Renee? Since you folks like to post bullshit why should I be suprised ?
