I'm over Charter! I just got this months bill and it's over 200.00! I'm dumping cable and getting an antenna! Could anyone tell me how many channels you can pick up in the city with an HD antenna?

you should just go with basic cable. Basic.
It is enough to do the dirty deed, ya heard.
Ok, also. If you have internet cable and
just get Netflix. Ya heard.

Can't get any. Maybe if you have an outside antenna, and can somehow get it well above the geographical block known as the "lowland".

Depending on the elevation of your house, you could get several. I've found that the larger flat outdoors antennas seem to work best.

My folks live in the Dandridge area and can get 10-15 stations with their antenna. Also know folks in the Tazewell area that get decent reception of the major 3 networks as well.

BTW...the highest quality HD signal is over the air......because it's uncompressed.

Just check out the larger FLAT SQUARE grid-like antennas out there (external ones) and make sure they are pointed in the right direaction.

Thank you all for the advice. I do have another question though, do I need a vhf/uhf antenna along with my hd antenna? I recently purchased the hd antenna and I'm getting 14 channels. They all look amazing, btw. But, I am wondering it I can get more channels with rabbit ears. Thanks for any help offered!

I need someone to install my antenna and hook it up for me, I can't climb ladders because of my fear of heights.

Does over the air not come in good there?. I thought Morristown would be a great spot for getting channels. I thought Knoxville, Greenville, Johnson City, Tazewell would come in great.
I get about 20 channels that are worth watching here in Sevierville and 7-8 duds. Half mile from here on the wrong side of the mountain my friends get exactly none. Depends on where you're at.

I bet with the old analog system from before 2009 came in pretty good. In Hamblen Likely picked up all I mentioned and Asheville too.

Antenna 100+ mile range from lowes
Booster Channel Master CM-3414
Antenna mounted on the edge of the house on a 6 ft pipe. The pipe is mounted in a satalite mount. Its just used to run the tv in the living room.

Thanks for the info! My satellite bill is getting too high for me so I'm strongly considering going to antenna. I'm paying for a LOT of channels I don't watch or listen to (music).

I second the channel master stuff. I had a cheap HD antenna from radio shack and took it down for a big channel master. I don't have a booster but I've heard they help a lot. I get all the regular channels is perfect HD. 6/8/10/10-1/10-2/10-3-39 and 43. I get some others but those are the main ones worth watching. With that plus a Firestick with Kodi, you can watch almost anything you want.
