Anyone attend the dance recital last night? If so, give your opinion!

I was there and I thought it was great. I've attended all their recitals and this was the best so far. I expect next year will be even better.

There was a lot of talent on display. The students obviously have learned from their teachers. I have compared performances over the past several years and it is clear they improve from year to year.

The guy that teaches tap was funny too! Liked the Irish dance routines as well.

I knew that, your wife choreographed several as well. If I had any negative comment, and it would be a stretch, there was too much ballroom dancing. One performance would suffice. It became kind of redundant. But, not a real problem.

I agree. I enjoyed the recital but last year it was way too drawn out with all the adult performances and singing. I was happy to see that this year they were able to edit themselves down to a dance recital that moved along at a good pace. But, they are a young dance studio and are learning each year and perfecting it each year. As far as adult performances go, they need to realize that most everyone attending is there to see their child or grandchild perform and are not interested in seeing the adult classes dance. The recital just gets way too long. This was something that was talked about a lot among some of the parents after last year's recital. This is one of the things that another dance studio used to lure some of Lakeway's students away from them this year. But, when it comes down to the quality of dance instruction there is no way to beat Lakeway.
Wondering

I was wondering if they teach ballroom dance and if so what is the cost and what are the days they teach it?

I agree that it was much better than last year's recital. Last year's was so drawn out and redundant that I was actually dreading being there this time around, but was pleasantly surprised. I LOVE the peacock dance, and was very happy that she preformed it again this year! I thought that the Irish dances were a nice addition too.

Did anyone see both the Lakeway Dance Recital and The Diamond Dance Studio recital? If so, how would you compare?

I dance for DDS. I also went to the lakeway recital. I will not compare my studio to someone else for being biest. I just want to say that lakeway did a very good job. If you did come to our recital I hope you enjoyed it.
