Hilarious as usual, you fine people of Morristown. If someone told you the story of Er, you would think that it was completely made-up. The story of Er is well documented and available. If you are interested in theology, then at least make yourselves somewhat conversant in the necessary texts. Good luck!
You just do not have what it takes to be conversant in the necessary texts, since you are not a believer. Therefore, you can not see with spiritual eyes and hear with spiritual ears without the power of the Holy Spirit. Therein lies the difference!

As usual, when you are backed into a corner, you atheists resort to being pompous, and arrogant. Do you ever stop to ask yourself why am I so against Christians, and trying so hard to figure it all out. Something is constantly tweaking your mind, thats how it works when the Holy Spirit is trying to get your attention, and Satan is constantly trying to belittle the Christian faith, with intelligent innuendos, trying so hard to figure it all out in a carnal spirit will never work. Can't be done..The Holy Spirit is supernatural, and cannot be figured out in the carnal mind! Give it up, and come on over to our side, Jesus loves you!

I apparently blew your minds with the text, sorry gang! I don't hate Christians. I find ALL religions to be less than believable. I like Jesus, and Odin, as well as Gilgamesh and the Flying Purple Spaghetti Monster. I LOVE original thought! I notice, however, that nobody has bothered to actually look up the story I had mentioned. Good luck!

They won't look it up. They are afraid. They have been indoctrinated since childhood and have been taught to stay away from anything that will challenge their doctrine. They don't understand that their story is just as unbelievable as any of the many others out there. Their religion is one of fear and so they are trapped without taking the initiative to educate themselves.

of the two responses you recieved, one went for the "captain midnight decoder ring" analogy and the other accused you of trying to confuse the christians with intelligence.

like joe said, it isnt a matter of lowing their minds, its a matter of exposing their fear.
