I'm new to town and looking for a contemporary, casual church where I can go. Anyone know if there are some in this area and where?

True Life Church, it is located on the right side of the highway just as you are going into Jefferson City, just past the Dollar General. I have never felt as comfortable in a church as I do there, very contemporary, music is great and they even serve coffee and tea. There are to service for your connivence, either Saturday night at 6:00pm or Sunday morning at 10:00am, there is no Sunday School or a Sunday night service. They do have small groups, some of them meet on Sunday nights some on other nights it just depends on which small group you decide to join, they usually meet at the leaders home for dinner and different activities. I hope you decide to give True Life a try!

I heard really good things about the Fellowship Church in White Pine...They seem really laid back I live close to the church and every sunday service I see the 'followers' wearing everything from leathers..jeans and tee to their sunday's best...but I just recently started attending First Baptist Church in Jefferson City,,it's on the Carson Newman campus..they have 2 sunday morning services...I have seen people wears Jeans there on Sunday mornings (in fact my son did the last sunday we went) they do really really good things for the community..It's worth checking out..

You could try The Church At Rutledge (it's really in Bean Station) beside Kingswood School. I love it there, it is very casual. The people there are very loving and make you feel at home.

I really don't think God cares about our dress, style of music, what kind of benches/chairs we sit in, who sits where, whether I leave happy, warm and fuzzy or not. Church/worship is supposed to be directed towards God and pleasing Him. How sad we worry about our pitiful feelings and dress instead of worrying about whether we please Him or not with our worship. No wonder our churches are struggling to fill the seats! We worry about our comfort, pleasing each other, and then wonder why "God doesn't show up". Hmmmmmmmmmm..........
