The place is always really great when I go there. Of course there is no telling what goes on in the back kitchen, but the food is excellent.

You guys really need to try the newest restaurant in town the Bamboo Garden. It is located at the Walmart shopping center and their food is really great and affordable as well.

Dang! I love Golden Dragon too. We need a volunteer to be Hamblen county's Don Dare and let us know about these "eatin places". Remember when Don found that one Chinese place in Knoxville wasn't using soap on their dirty dishes? Ewwwwww...

This is the second time they have got a failing score in the past 6 months. My question is how many do they get before they realize theres a problem.

I am assuming you all know about how restaurants are scored? Granted, that's a low score, but the things they deduct for, I can almost guarantee the same things happen in your own kitchens. You know, it's socially wrong, so we don't do it in public, but I can bet there are a lot of you out there that practice the 3 or 5 or 10 second rule within the privacy of your own homes. How many points would that deduct?! Give them a break, don't always look at the numbers...look at what the points were deducted for.

Damn, if a grade of 57 had been a passing grade back in the 60's, I would have gotten out of high school 2 years earlier.

Mark,
I spend about 5 months a year in China and you are correct about the items on the menu....BUT the food you are getting in the US isn't chinese at all....All those dishes are prepared for western culture and are a distant similarity to the actual chinese dishes.
Chinese food is really good and I would eat the local food in China 10 to 1 vs. the "buffet hog troughs" here in the US. Good chinese food can not be prepared an left to sit on some steaming bar for hours at a time and also it can not be frozen, processed and shipped out to the restaraunt to be cook to order. You are never going to get the true flavor of the dishes that way.

Golden Dragon was my favorite place in town to eat until I tried authentic Chinese.(BTW the lady that works there told me I would like the food in China better than in Golden Dragon). When I returned and tried it again it didn't have the same flavor.

I still go there but I will try Bamboo Garden when I get back to the States next week...

Does anyone know if real chinese people are working there or if its mexicans with a chinese boss??
