Not seeing how this is a problem if the rumors are true. Companies remodel buildings all the time.

Olive Garden is a big favorite of the Gays. That's all we need a bunch of gays coming to town to eat at OG and then have gay sex in the public restrooms of our town.

I'm in the know and Olive garden has repeatedly declined to position in the Morristown market. They heavily rely on alcohol sales including wine. They have performed market studies and determined that due to the religious makeup of this area, alcohol/wine sales would not be sufficient. They are not coming to the mall, they are not coming to exit 8, they are not coming to merchants green. Not coming to Morristown. Period. Done.

Hey "NOPE". Anybody who has to state that they are "in the know" is usually an idiot who knows nothing.

"no thanks" didn't start their post with that, so they are probly credible.

Would you like to place a very large sum of cash on you being 100% wrong? If you do, and are serious, I will meet you in public somewhere and let a 3rd party hold the money.

Well, like CommonSense2012 says, building are remodeled all the time. My info came from the mgmt staff at the mall itself. Of course they were trying to rent a space to me but I have no doubt that what they say is true. Morristown now have liquor by the drink and I think they will do fine.

Why would anyone want to replace a dying busiess with a resturant in a dying mall?

Yeah they have liquor by the drink now but the good old baptists won't be seen having a glass of wine after church on Sunday. God forbid.

Those good old baptists DO go out after church and have a cocktail or glass of wine. They go to another town. I have seen it.

Sears was not a "dying" business. They were actually very smart, when the mall tripled the rent on them starting 1/1/2013 they decided to close the doors. Although I would love an Olive Garden, Morristown is just not the place for one. Like previous posters said OG relies on alcohol sales and the menu prices do not reflect those of McDonalds. An average meal per person is 12-20.

Yes you are exactly right. They don't want their friends to see them. Thus they will continue to have to drive to other towns because no restaurants want to come to this market.

Hmmm... Let's see Olive Garden, Red Lobster, Outback in Knoxville or O'Charleys, Ruby Tuesdays here in town. Wonder what I would pick?

I wanted to be the first to congratulate you on seeing someone that you know in a restaurant out of town. That is so awesome. That never happens to me.

Some of you people really need to get back in touch with reality. Look at the quality and variety of restaurants between Morristown and Knoxville. Believe it or not, its not about religion or being afraid someone will see you.
