It hurts to read this. Anyone know of people aged 15-26 that have died in the past few years? I seen Tia and I remember her from the boys and girls club. She could run fast in the gym class when we'd play cat and mouse. She always ran with her arms out instead of back and forth like most people. It sucks she died. Also does anyone know the girls name that drown in Cherokee lake I think on the 4th of July weekend about 10 or so years back? She was a middle school cheerleader I think.

Jeff Wilson died in a car wreck sometime in the early 80's. I was in the East Band with him. He was a great guy and taken way too early. Candy Rolan's life was ended much too soon by a drunk driver in VA. She left a young son who has dealt with this tragedy with many unhealthy vices. Not all of the names mentioned are alchohol or drug related, some are results of "accidents", but as we read these names and think of them, let's all try to be better friends to those around us. We never know when someone we love can be taken from us.
Are you talking about Candy who's sister's name is Taffy and her sons name is Luke??

Cheryl Murphy was in a car wreck and died as the result. This wreck happened around 1984 or so I believe. The accident occurred around the Mooresburg,Bean Station area, and either she had tried to pass a car or a car was passing another vehicle in the rain and had collided with Cheryl's car.She was well liked and a good person, and she had attended Cherokee High School in Rogersville.

I know of some of her family, and an ex-boyfriend of hers. Never knew her. Heard she was a very beautiful girl. I've heard many good things about her. Her ex-boyfriend still talks about her til this day, even though he did move on with his life and have children, etc. I think if had she lived that this man wouldn't have turned out like he did. If you knew her well, I'm sure you know the boyfriend (J.D.M. mainly known as D.M. tho) I'm speaking of.

I was very young when Brian Crider died but I remember the name so well because of the gym at West View. Chad Stepp died when I was in high school. I think I was a freshman or sophmore then so I wasn't old enough to know them but I remember how sad it was to hear about. Bradley Holt is my cousin, we were raised like siblings though. He would tell people I was his sister. It is/was really hard when he passed. Steve, his dad, died in January of 2000. Jody Walker was a good friend of mine in highschool as well. She died of breast cancer leaving a little girl behind.

Kelvin wrecked the year before Brian. They actually wrecked on opposites sides of the road. After Brians accident, they finally put up guard rails.

I don't remember the accident involving Brian Roach. Can anyone provide more info on it? From the discussions, I get the feeling he didn't survive. I went to Meadowview with a Brian Roach and wonder if it was the same guy - he would have graduated in 1984. Did Pam go to West High?
Letting my daughter drive alone once she got her license was HANDS DOWN the absolute toughest thing I've had to do thus far as a Mother. I mean, you have to trust her as well as those she meets on the road NOT TO MAKE A MISTAKE. I was tough on her - still am - about speed, attention, weather conditions, defensive driving, and everything!(I think my fear came from the Mark Hayter accident in 1980 - he was in my freshman class at West.)
It is so tragic when young people (or anyone) loses their lives in accidents. I lost my Mom in '01 not to an automobile accicent but to a medical/hospital accident, and I know all to well about the 'what if's' that torture you!
My heart goes out to the families of those that were taken too soon.
Brian was driving his Volkswagon Beetle. He didn't survive. He would have graduated in '85.
