I have a husky in need of a groomer. I'm totally clueless as to where to take her. I'm afraid of groomers simply because of hearing horror stories. Any recommendations from those of u that have lots of hair dogs?

Take it to super dog. The pooch gets a free high from what I heard. Just don't go too much, you'll end up with a junkie for a pet.

Judy poodle parlor on central church road is good. She don't use no gas or nothing. If she don't think they can't give ur dog a grooming without meds she won't do it. She is a lil pricing but it is worth it.

from all I saw while working there I would never take my dog there. I saw dogs smacked, punched, choked and drug on their leads and thrown back in kennels. One old chow was pushed off grooming table and her lip was busted. It's all about money not love love love! I recommend your vet if you have one you trust. Also saw ears cut off and then super glued on so owners wouldn't know. The love of money-the root of all evil!

To the above poster...That is total BS!! I work at Judys Poodle Parlor. We are in the business not for the money (believe me if it was for the money I wouldnt be struggling as I am now!!)We groom dogs because we love animals & we love what we do. We sure would NOT EVER abuse an animal. Cut off ears & superglued them back on??? OMG you are an idiot! We love our clients & their dogs & treat their dogs like we do our own (& our dogs are treated just as good as if they were our children!) As for us being more expensive than some other places...( I am NOT bashing any other grooming business because that is childish) Yes we may be more pricy but we use all natural products,& our grooming service includes cleaing ears, clipping nails, expressing anal glands. We DO NOT sedate period! As for YOU claiming that you worked there..just WHEN did you work there?? The people who work there have been there for a very long time. We spend alot of our personal time helping animals in need (that we do not get paid for)..because ITS NOT ABOUT THE MONEY, its because we truly care about animals.SHAME ON YOU!

Worked there you are a liar you have never worked at Judys. For years its been the same girls that are still there doing the grooming. Before that it was judy and her parents. Unless you worked the kennel and if you did you would have not been there at the same time the groomer were and been able to witness what you just said you have, and if you did I want to say shame on you for not reporting such abuse. We have only had 3 kennel workers over all in the past 15years. I have to call bull shit on this one.

Oh and we dont put big dogs that are older on the table to groom they are groomed on a gerry cot while we sit in the floor. You have to be careful with older dogs legs. Nice try

Did report it to Judy and she did nothing, and I did see Judy drag a dog on a lead and shove it in a kennel where it was so stressed by her treatment it threw up everywhere! Groomers make good money, bathers and kennel keepers make $5. an hr, owner makes a killing! If I had it to do over I would've video taped abuse and took it to authorities, maybe they would've done something. Would never recommend this place to any one that loves their pet! People working the kennels are there at the when groomers are too, they come around 5 let the dogs out, feed, water and change bedding if needed, then they leave, come back at noon+- do the same, then back at 5pm. Groomers are there from 8 to 5.

If Judy knew of someone abusing an animal..not only would they be fired & reported for animal cruelty but they would leave with her foot in their ass! As far as you saying she was mean to a dog..I dont believe it. If you witnessed abuse like you claim..why did you not call the police or stand up and say something?? My guess is that you were fired because of your wrong doing & you are carrying a grudge so you thought youd try to get on here & give us a bad name.Or maybe we testified against you in an animal cruelty case. We work very hard to care for the dogs we groom. WE love our job & we love our clients & their dogs. We have dogs ourselves that are treated just like our children & we treat our clients pets just as we do our own. If we didnt love what we do we would have a different career.Do you know how much of our personal time we volunteer to help animals?? We do alot more for the welfare of animals than most people know. In fact we (& many other caring people) are hard at work right now helping a family of a dog that was murdered.I do not have time to be on this stupid site defending my job..but I am. If you care so much about animals why dont you pull yourself up off your butt away from the computer & go volunteer your time & do something good.

I know what I saw, and I do volunteer work, and your right I should have reported this place to police but I knew it would be my word against theirs, 3 of them one of me who they gonna believe. Believe what you want. I know what I saw and I quit there because of it. God knows my heart and He knows I'm telling the truth, so I don't care if you believe me. Just letting people know the way it was when I was there, they can make up their own mind where to have their pets groomed. I don't know anything about Super dog but I have heard a lot of good things. I groom my own cause after what I saw there I don't trust anybody with my babies!
