when you're at a restaurant, and need to go to the restroom, how do you know which room to go into? you look at the bathroom sign, right? you will see the lady's room will have a picture of a woman wearing a dress...and the men's room will have a man wearing pants.:)
it's simple people.
the Bible encourages Christians to stand out from the world, to not blend in. this goal can be accomplished in many ways, obviously, but one major way is through our appearance...if you're in wal-mart and see a lady wearing a long dress you would certainly notice her way before you would the next one wearing her tight jeans and halter top. the lady who was covered would stand out to you because she stands out from the "world."
We all need to dig in our Bibles more and consult the Lord for guidance on how we should live our lives for him.
funny you brought that up...the muslim extreemist think this way too..they believe women should wear those long things too..this is a way of keeping her below him, and so she will not cheat with another man....ya know a power kick
put one more point when polititions are running against eachother ya know democrats against republicans the pictures used to represent them are the donkey and elephant, the republican party was given the elephant sign in 1874 this was 130+ years ago just b/c the pic is an elephant doesnt mean the republican party is a elephant.....just like the comment about the signs on the bathroom doors is also irrevelant and has nothing to do with god.....i can think of many other ways to stand out like maybe helping the homeless or whatever.....its whats inside that makes you different anyone one can dress the same doesnt make you different

I personally do not like to see women in church with pants on. People have no problem with dress codes except when it comes to the House of God (yes we are the Temple of the Holy Ghost, but the sanctuary is the place where God dwells- that's another topic in itself). Think about it, certain restaurants have a dress code, as a nurse I am required to wear a particular color uniform, we dress up to go out on a date, etc. We spend lots of time getting dressed to impress others, why should we do any less for the Lord. While I understand that there are those who do not have money to buy expensive clothes, I do not believe that a decent skirt or dress pants (for men) is impossible to find. Our appearance often dictates how we carry ourselves. I have gone to churches and seen people who looked as though they rolled out of bed. How offended our Lord must be when we spend more time trying to impress man than presenting Him with the best that we have. We should be excited to go into God's house and desire to look our best for Him. In closing, for those who love to say "the Bible says come as you are", I have yet to find that verse.

i wear pants to church so my husband will stop trying to slide his hand up my skirt during the preaching jeezz i try to stop him but he says church gets him all turned on so i didn't want the people across from us all excited as well so i decided from now on to wear pants so i think thats a good reason for women to wear pants to church so the men won't try to stick their hands up their dress. *J.B.D*

I received the story below before I ever saw this post. I do not know if it is true or not but I do believe that we should focus on showing people the Lord first and let them make their choices about what they wear.
Now this is
The Living Bible:

His name is Bill. He has wild hair, wears a T-shirt with holes in it, jeans, and no shoes. This was literally his wardrobe for his entire four years of college.

He is brilliant. Kind of profound and very, very bright. He became a
Christian while attending college.

Across the street from the campus is a well-dressed, very conservative church. They want to develop a ministry to the students but are not sure how to go about it.

One day Bill decides to go there. He walks in with no shoes, jeans, his
T-shirt, and wild hair The service has already started and so Bill starts down the aisle looking for a seat.

The church is completely packed and he can't find a seat. By now, people are really looking a bit uncomfortable, but no one says anything.

Bill gets closer and closer and closer to the pulpit, and when he realizes there are no seats, he just squats down right on the carpet.

By now the people are really uptight, and the tension in the air is thick.

About this time, the minister realizes that from way at the back of the church, a deacon is slowly making his way toward Bill.

Now the deacon is in his eighties, has silver-gray hair, and a three-piece suit. A godly man, very elegant, very dignified, very courtly. He walks with a cane and, as he starts walking toward this boy, everyone is saying to themselves that you can't blame him for what he's going to do.

How can you expect a man of his age and of his background to understand some college kid on the floor?

It takes a long time for the man to reach the boy.

The church is utterly silent except for the clicking of the man's cane. All eyes are focused on him.. You can't even hear anyone breathing. The minister can't even preach the sermon until the deacon does what he has to do.

And now they see this elderly man drop his cane on the floor. With great difficulty, he lowers himself and sits down next to Bill and worships with him so he won't be alone.

Everyone chokes up with emotion..

When the minister gains control, he says,'What I'm about to preach, you will never remember. What you have just seen, you will never forget.'

'Be careful how you live. You may be the only Bible some people will
ever read!'

I asked the Lord to bless you
As I prayed for you today.
To guide you and protect you
As you go along your way....
His love is always with you,
His promises are true,
And when we give Him all our cares,
You know He will see us through.

the bible does say be careful how we treat strangers because we never know one could be an angel.....
i once seen on americas most wanted a very touching story..an elderly couple living off social security had a man come to there door, he asked for food, the couple brought him in and fed him, after he was done he said thanks and the couple collected all their change to give to the man, in all it was $5.00, they said their good bye's and the husband went to his closet to get a jacket, but the man was already gome, he went outside to try to find him, but he was no where to be found.
anyway at christmas time they got a card in the mail upo opening it they found a check for $500.00 they took it to the bank thinking there must be some mistake, but to their surprize the check was good...every year thereafter at chritmas time they get a card with a check for $500.00
they believe it was an angel
point is this man came to them as a begger
they gave the best they could
and god blessed them

Why do guys wear pants to church? Do you think God cares about how you look or what you wear? No he doesn't. When you go to church you should be more focused on learning about God instead of looking around and being the fashion police. This really upsets me because really God made humans naked, so does he really care if women are wearing pants? No.

Just go by the bible because it is right. First Timothy 2 and 9. I am tied of hearing what everone thinks. Let God word be true . Womens just live by God word if you are save. If you are not save, then I respect nothing from you. At the end we will be judge by the book of life. Holy Bible.

THE DAM BIBLE IS NOT THE FINAL WORD. THE BIBLE WAS WRITTEN FOR US TO PROFREAD CORRECT AND GET AN IDEA OF HOW TO LIVE. ALSO SNAKE HANDLERS ARE IN THE WRONG CAUSE GOD NEVER TOLD MAN TO PICK UP ANYTHING DEADLY. WAT IS GETTING SAVED? CAUSE WHEN JESUS COMES BACK HE WILL JUDGE THE LIVING AND THE DEAD. SO UR SAVEING URSELF FOR NOTHING. HE SAVED US WHEN HE DIED ON THE CROSS. BACK WHEN CHIRST WAS HERE EVERYONE WORE ROBES. I CAN'T IMAGINE BEING MARRIED TO A LONG HAIRED WOMAN CAUSE HER HAIR WOULD GET IN THE WAY WHEN WE WOULD GO TO MAKE LOVE. GOD BLESS EVERYONE.

The reason they wear pants to church,
Is not too hard to guess:
They don't want horny choir boys,
Looking up their dress.

Going to church is each persons option, what you wear is that same option. You are there to worship the LORD, he don't care what you wear, he don't judge you for your outside looks, he judges you from your soul. HE is the only only to judge you. So if a lady shows up in pants so what, she there to worship not be judged by people who go there. It's none of their business what she wears only that she is there. For those ladies who wear pants, continue it. You have every right to do so.BE PROUD stand proud!!!! GOD BLESS YOU!!!

Ever read your babble? God cares what you wear, how you wear it, how you cut your hair and what your clothes are made of.
