Several days ago my mother in law was brought to that hospital because of problems she was having she got a cat scan and the people they call doctors said oh its just a blood pressure issue no big deal give her these pills follow up with her doctor in a few days. Well I'm sure you all know where I'm going with this we took her to a real hospital and she has suffered a stroke and has a blockage! So anyone out there that reads this be very cautious if taking your loved ones to see the quacks at MORRISTOWN-HAMBLEN HOSPITAL! Everyone knows with a stroke response time is critical and thanks to them her diagnosis was delayed by several days and we are not sure of the damage it may or maynot have caused from doctors who don't have a right to practice medicine. I am an un-educated person but had the common sense to know what it was and people with a doctorate did not I think they should be reevaluated by someone!

i went to mmh back in nov 09 because i feel and hurt my ankle. they took xrays and said it was a bone bruise. my ankle contuined to hurt and in dec 09 i was walking down some steps and i heard my ankle snap then i just fell to the ground. to make a long story short i had to have surgery the next morn and have 9 pieces of metal in my ankle. when i have went to er in nov they said they didnt see anything broken but with the way my ankle snaped there is no way it wasnt broken. the surgeon couldnt understand how the er doc couldnt see that it was broken. now i have to have a 3rd surgery to have a total ankle replacement. i will be going to lakeway for this one.

I've heard similar horror stories, lately, about MHHS. Seems like something needs to be done.
I go to Knoxville. Granted, there are bad doctors and bad hospitals everywhere, but like someone else eluded to...more than likely, you won't just get a pill outside of Morristown.
Is anybody listening?

If YOU'RE sick, you don't need an ER. That's why it is called an EMERGENCY room. You go there when you have an emergency. Having a cough, cold, flu, earache, back pain, headache or you have run out of your roxies is not an emergency.

Morristown Hamblen ER is a joke... I went there once when I broke my leg out of location not preference... I have been an RN at UT hospital for 6 years and I can safely tell you that the RNs in MHHS ER are just plain horrible. They did a mediocre job at best and that's giving them credit. Unless its so urgent that a longer drive is a burden, then save yourself the trouble and go to UT or Fort Sanders.

Unfortunately this is not the case for everyone. I was in car accident and flown to UT I would have received better care at MHHS I had broken arm that was not casted for 2 days then it was put on over an arm full of glass. I had a laceration on my head that was not closed for 24 he's. then not properly performed so every hospital has issues .

I disagree with your s tatement every ones body reacts in a different way i have gone to the er becauseas sick with the flu my bodie felt like it was going to snap in half you never know when it can be life threating. I was also just the for back pain, pinched nerves that morphine would barly touch and sometimes you cant get to a reg.pcp when symtoms just kick in and its unbarable. Its the kind of people just lookung for a high that makes people that really need it look bad

My dad was taken there by ambulance for a stroke. Once admitted, the nurses on his floor pretty much ignored him. He was not seen by a doctor until late afternoon the day after admission. The nurses on his floor ignored him. No meds, no checking on him, no BP monitoring. They did not even provide him with water. Would not help him sit up in bed in order to eat breakfast. The end result was that he began refusing to eat. PLEASE DO NOT TAKE A LOVED ONE TO THIS FACILITY.

My primary care doctor resigned MMHH and only works out of Lakeway now. When doctors leave hospitals, I would say that there are some serious issues. Wouldn't you?
