DONT EAT HERE

Morristown, TN

#1 Jan 12, 2013
The Health dept needs to step in here!!!

My wife and kids went to Fred's and had decided to try this place something different, that we had seen but never stopped by and now we wish we had not stopped. First of all We dont know the people there or owner and wanted to give an honest opinion and warning to anyone who thinks about stopping there.
#1 DONT EAT THERE!!!
As we were walking in we were greeted by a woman who appeared to be strung out on drugs that was outside the door smokin and trying to corral us inside asking if we had ever ate here before.(RED FLAG) Against our better judgement we were hungry and went in.

#2 Apparently you have to "coose a meat" they make one meat portion IE: hamburger covered in onions, pulled pork or fish and serve it on foam trays(with plactic lunch trays we had at west high years ago) that you see at a picnic or highschool. Then they brag about a buffet bar and slap a $9.00 price on it and you pay before you eat.(We assume to get your $ before you get sick)

#3 The atmosphere (and i'm not kidding) Looked like a soup kitchen or homeless shelter --->> and i mean pop up tables with plastic picnic covers a plastic silverware dispencer, stained indoor /outdoor carpet food everywhere on the floor and overflowing garbage cans. the celing was a drop celing that had water stains all over the tiles and the buffet was corn mashed potat, green beans, and a failed attempt at baked beans and mixed wilted salad from a bag. I MEAN EVERYTHING HERE SCREAMED SOUP KITCHEN!!!!

#4 There is nothing wrong with a soup kitchen don't get us wrong people need help. But, if your trying to run a restaurant, run a restaurant. We felt as if we should ask for an apron and volunteer community service here. We are by no means better than anyone but maybe the owner should team up with the health department and city of morristown and serve the homeless with there menu. IF YOU DO GO THERE YOU HAVE BEEN WARNED,JUST LOOK AROUND AND WALK OUT.

We saw You Guys!!!
My Sister and her husband and us stopped there last night on our way back home and You are not kidding!
We went in and took one look around and saw the same thing. The buffet is 6 warming trays you see in a soup kitchen. My husband and brother in law told us to not order as they waked into the dining area and looked.
My husband said "lets leave now!" The woman taking orders must have been the same one you talked about and there was some guy that looked like he was guarding the food in he warming trays. I think we saw you all just by the look on your faces when we came in because you all stuck out like you didnt belong there!. and gave us a Dont eat here look LMAO!!!(no offence but everyone else looked homeless tattered clothes and nasty people, probably was the owners family)Looked like a scene right out of a lifetime show at a soup kitchen. Definately not a restaurant I'm soo sorry you stayed, You should have asked for your money back and left!
The first post is 100% true DO NOT EAT THERE! And to the first poster, I hope you all arnt sick from the food cause it stunk in there!(i'm not sure if it was the people or the food or floors) but anyway someone needs to report this place Seriously!

Heywood Jablowme,
So easy to make comments about someones wife on a computer in a public forum right? You like others hide behind a keyboard.
The truth is if you made that comment about anyones wife in the real world not cyber-land punk you wouldn't be able to type again or even talk. Plenty of real men here in town feel the same and would wipe the floor with you talkin about there wife.

So i guess you live under a bridge since you love the food and you make fun of someone for shopping at freds lol what the hell are you doing there getting your weekly handout at the mountain wood soup kitchen?
Plus apparently there is a mother on here with sick kids asshole. I wish I could run into one of you computer punks in town. The poster was telling the truth ive heard it from everyone. run of the mill homeless shelter foor a mess and run down place. Fine dining for you huh? that also tells your tase in food which is none and you have no concept of fine dining, not an old hillbilly shack who had a little money and opened a place to sell his "good ol mamma's" food. yall come on back now hear" I dont normally respond to a southern in-bred who has no life to blast a family for there opinion and concern for others but there are kids involved and apparently you dont have kids or a wife.

I have eaten there several times The food was alway's good, The owner very pleasent, the staff were all dresed in whites and doing there jobs. mostly older folks. non looked like junkies or pill heads. the seating and eating utencils are instatutional like, But when you walk in the front door it's easy to see the whole meat selection as well as the side items. You can view the whole dinning area,so you know what exactly whats there.
So if it wasn't your thing why would you not just go on down the street. I have been there at lunch and they were so busy there were no seats so people just offered up the empty spot at their table. It was just reagular folks eating good food.
As for the I was sick I would Call B.S. every restaurant has health inspections viewable by the public, If people were getting ill they would be right back in there to inspect.

If I went in a restaurant and I saw what was explained, I wouldn't stay. It's funny this place has other forums on topix of people praising the food. I have been there, it was great. This post has the smell of a vendictive rant. If fine dinning is what your in the mood for go elsewhere.
But read all the previous forums or better yet go and judge for yourself.

If it didn't meet your "fine dining" expectations based on the looks of the place, why didn't you just leave? I eat there about once a week and have no problems. If I want a "fine dining" experience, I go to Red Lobster or Olive Garden. I realize this place is not perfect and can be improved upon, but this is true of all restaurants. The owner never held a gun to your head and made you eat there. So you're out nine bucks, big deal! Just go somewhere else next time and instead of whining about the looks of the place after the fact, take responsibility and look around before you pay and if you think it looks like a soup kitchen, leave and go somewhere else instead of whining on Topix. BTW your second post under a different name agreeing with the first post is as phony as a three dollar bill.

the first two posts came from the same person, or at least, the same computer. ever hear of a IP address? some of us "computer punks" are actually good hackers. i have ate there several times and the food was ok, nothing to brag about but, ok. if you don't like it, don't eat there. some people think they can actually hurt a business by running it down on topix, that is hilarious! anyone with any intelligence at all, believes nothing they read on here.

Hit a nerve, did I? GOOD! I only make comments back at people that start the bashing on this forum! It's funny how people like you will start several different threads to try to make things look worse. Or change their screen name several times and answer or carry on a conversation with themselves. It really don't make a difference to ones business what is said on Topix.

I seriously dubt many people check Topix's "Gourmet Critics" before they go out to eat! LOL

If you don't believe me, look around..As IS is still open for business.

And by the way, I'm not afraid of you or your little imagionary friends on here. I do just like you do,and hide behind a keyboard remember?

SCHOOL'S OUT!

Looks to me like another unfounded post did nothing but make people wanna go check it out. Thats karma, you try to wrongly insult a business that is obviously by the crowd a good place to eat. and you can tell by the response no one agrees. GOOD JOB
