they are a hindrance, they attract the users here, and when they are not in line for methadone, they are at the er's claiming to be out, plus it's just another fix for them until they can score another hit of their drug of choice, we already voted one down in the community, we don't need one. let them go some place else.

. Jus cuz people/junkies abuse the pain clinics ther is people that have chronic pain! I think it should go back the way it use to be an let your family dr decide wat u need too have! But no some fool had to vote it to be a clinic do it! And as far as methadone an suboxone clinics should be gone an banned from the world! Blockers thin the lining of ur heart an they have gave people heart murors an killed them. The clinics don't let the patients kno this. Becuz they want ther money. Think about it years ago when family drs gave u ur pain meds we DID NOT HAVE THIS MUCH PROBLEMS!!!

These horrible drugs have destoryed our world! I feel sorry for the people who have real pain because low rents have ruined the system and when you walk in those places they look at you as trash. I personally have never been in one but i hear thats how it is. I agree I think your family doctor should make the choices but these pain clinics are so easy to walk in and get 200 pills of this 150 pills of this blah blah I mean really can a human body handle that much???? I think these doctors should be put in jail for giving that many. Heck people wont work when they can sell there pills, foodstamps you name it and live better than people who actually try hard. Makes me so so so upset =/

I've seen these people you speak of and not one lives better than someone working 40 hours a week on minimum wage. Food stamps go roughly ยข.50 to the dollar. If you only get $200 a month you've turned your food into $100, which could be made in half a week at $8 bucks an hour after taxes. The pills vary in price and profits can be made if insurance buys the pills and there sold for $35 apiece(oxy/roxy). The issue with making money that way is everyone who sells is an addict and after they get their fix and sell their dope all money made gets turned back into pills. From every example I've seen in this town that life style leads to poverty, addiction, jail, and death. Every summer I go to a funeral for someone I went to high school with die to an over dose, and its the Drs fault for handing pills out as if they were m&m's.

The "War on Drugs" is stupid,
Wastes our money, is absurd;
Give addicts all the drugs they want -
Let nature thin the herd.

If only it was the truth. Unfortunately, drugs have a weird effect on the stupid, dumb, inbreds who use them. It seems to make them more fertile and more likely to breed with other ignorant pillbillies. They are like cockroaches. It must embalm their organs, cause these f'kers don't die.

I thought this was about methadone clinics. Anyway I go to Knoxville daily to get my 60 mg of methadone so I won't buy or want pain pills they have helped me a lot I can and do work a 40 hr a week job and have not taken the first pill since December 07 2011 the day before I started in the clinic I had bought 140 mg of hydros so don't run your stupid mouths unless you've been there it's easy to gripe about something but to bad y'all don't have any idea what your talking about.

Do you think you're special, do you think you've done something extraordinary? You are kidding yourself if you think you're not addicted to pills anymore. You stopped taking opium called hydros, and replaced it with opium called methadone. You're still a junky, you just buy your drug of choice from a Dr, instead of a dealer. Methadone is for puszys. If you really wanted to be sober, you'd ride the withdrawals. Methadone is just another excuse of your addiction to use. Opium withdrawals will not kill you. You feel like you deserve to be comfortable, inconvenience everyone, destroy society, and be a drag on the healthcare system while you take your sweet time to detox. Grow a set, grow up, and shut up. Because you haven't been through shlt sonnie.

Yeah people who take opamas, proxies, or morphine,or any of that vein dope will rob you as you sit and talk crap about people on suboxone or methadone. Junkies don't care if they give someone else HIV or aids. Generally don't or can't get jobs. Weasel off of every body they can. People on methadone or suboxone generally do have jobs. They don't weasel off people. And they don't want to stop taking "opium derived" substances. Furthermore, you can't stop them. Its perfectly legal. Suboxone and methadone help more people than it hurts. Opiate addicts have to try everything they can to make it work. People have stayed on methadone for 20 years and make it work. Others stay on methadone for 6 weeks and see its not for them. And if you don't think that quiting opiates can kill you then you obviously have not been through withdraw from them... every one I know says their mental state is so unstable that they thought they may kill themselves. But I don't intend to change anyone's mind. I suspect you will have to lose someone close to you in order for you to change your mind. That's what changed mine

"sharp pill" just about everyone is on drugs, half of the above people that are talking badly about them take something thereself more than likely, because drugs are all over the place and about 90% are on them! You want to throw stones at this man for being honest, and call him a bad person because he had a problem! In case you didn't know most drug addicts that go to rehabs and stop taking everything why they are their end up relapseing half of the people that has done drugs, got addicted to them can not go on in life without taking something to cope with there problem. I've saw people that have went down that road to many timesand the never get better by going to a rehab! They may be 2 out 1,000 that can get off everything and never go back to that habit, but mostly all of them do! I proud of this guy for what he has done! It has help him get a job and move on and be a better person! Plus after you take methdone for so long you do not fill anything off of it, it make you fill like your normal self! You do not get high off of it like you do with pills! If, you ever have to walk threw any drug addicts shoes I would love to see you go to rehab and never relapse because if you can do that then your so special. Don't ever judge someone when you have no idea of what it's like!

Where do you get your statistics from? Maybe 90 percent of the people you hang out with are on drugs. As for the real world, outside of the Morristown projects, most people are not addicted junkies. You junkies are all the same. Crying when you don't get your fix, crying when you might have to be a little uncomfortable so you can live a normal life. Feeling as though society owes you the sobriety YOU so hastily lost. If you want to get clean, great. Just don't expect me to open up pill pushing clinics next to my family, to make your nasty, pill hoe, junky azz more comfortable while you detox. As a junky, you have lost the right to expect anything from society. Now go away, come back when you're actually sober.

Think about it, pain meds were made for ONE REASON! Pain!! Any other use of it is abuse, plain & simple..& I don't think we should make the people that actually NEED this type of medicine suffer, b/c sum idiots decided that hey, I'm gonna take more of these, because they make me feel good!! People that have Chronic pain need & take these pills as the doc prescribes, & to better their quality of life, not to get F-ED up, I just don't think they should suffer, because of no good pill heads. As for the ones addicted, & want to quit, ALLIT TAKES, is willpower and u can do it!! Most of it is mental, b/c u think I have to have it, I don't wanna be sick, wah wah wah!! I beat an addiction, & never in a million years thought I cud beat it, but I did! It was either get off of em, or be dead! So choose.. Pills?...... Or DEATH?!

One of my friends have always been on grade level while in high school never made any bad grades, always went to church, hardly ever got into any trouble, always did as what her parents, had a good life, her parents always made sure she had the best in life as soon as she completed high school she went on to college in a different state where she had always dreamed of going when she was younger. During her college break she decided to drive back down to TN. to visit with her family and some old high school friends,on the day that she was on her way here she got into a very bad car accident that just about took her life, she was put in the hospital for a longtime they were giving her pain meds. while she was still in the hospital for her pain. Anyway to make a long story short she got relase from the hospital and got to come home, the doctor perscribe her pain medinice to continue to take for pain she took them for about 6 months and the doctor told her she didn't need them anymore. She was hooked after her taking them for so long. How did she relize she was? At night she was not able to sleep any, she would be up all night, during the day she would have sweats, feel horrible not able to eat, and her heart would race away. She called a told the doctor what was going on and he told her that she must be having withdrawls that it should go away with in 3 to 5 days. She waited for 7 days and still felt horrible, she was making herself eat a little during the day, she lost her job and wasn't able to go to school over this. She then decided to go to a rehab, she went was there for 60 days felt a little better but wasn't her normal self. The rehab did not help her! She had never ever touched any pills ever the only thing she did was drank while in college so don't tell me all people just go out, and say hey! I want to just start getting high for the hell of it. Don't judge people when youhave no clue what there past is about! She got hook on pill because a doctor perscribe her pain medicine, not because she was going to parties every night and one thing lead to another. NO-one has a clue what a drug addict goes through unless they have been down that same road! This girl is a wonderful person, she is sweet and would do anything for anyone. She is married now, she finished college and has a great job making good money, and has a beautiful 2 year old little girl they have a nice has, nice things and goes to church when the doors are open all because she started going to a methdone clinic and it help her, changed her life. She has went there for 9 years. So it does help people that wants to change. Not one person that I have seen go down the road of being on drugs, has been able to go on in life without relapseing. Most people that do drugs are going to do them for the rest of there lifes, I know of 8 people that has went to rehab after rehab, and still continue to go back to doing the same thing. These people that have a problem needs prayers not being judged! If, anyone tried to walk one mile in a drug addict shoes then thay would know how hard it is to get clean.

Waaaa, waaaa, waaaa, cry me a river. She choose pills over pain, she did! Everytime she made an appointment, Everytime she filled a prescription, Everytime she opened a bottle, plucked out a pill and placed it in her body, She made the decision of choosing a high, instead of pain. You and her can keep blaming everyone else for why you choose to abuse drugs. But YOU are ultimately responsible for what you do with your body. Typical ignorant junky thinking. Im fat because of McDonalds, im poor because of the government, Im a junky because of my doctor/or drug dealer. Grow up and be responsible.

I was really digging what you were saying about your friend.....until you said she has kept going to the methodone clinic for NINE years. That is totally ridiculous. The deal on the methodone is to slowly wean yourself off opium in a safe, controlled manner, as in a year or three. Nine years clearly shows she did not want to give up the feelings the methodone provided for her.

Google all you want about methdone or any other kind of medicine. Methdone does not get you high. The reason she continues to take it,is because it makes her feel normal. She said her body feels horrible without it. She isn't able to sleep, eat, work etc. It is a proven fact that if you have been addicted to drugs more than 3to4 years more than likely you will be taking something for the rest of your life. They even tell you when you start going to one of these clinic that if you take it longer than 3 years you will be on it for thr rest of your life, because your body gets used to it. It is very hard for any addict to stay off of everything if they been addicted to something for more than 4 years. Honestly, how many people do you know that has went to rehabs (that doesn't take any medicine) that "never relapse" or go back to the same habit? This world is completely cover with drug addicts, I do believe it will never get better without the help of these places. People that go to places like this if they fail more than 3 drug test, they can never go back to one ever again, they have to have blood/urine test these places are very strict. As of now they are 5,693 people on the waiting list. You also can go there for the rest of your life if you chose to.

WOW!!! You are thick... you are the one who was preaching to me about not judging people unless ive walked in their shoes. Now your are tellin me you know nothing about addiction, and you're posting on discussion promoting something you know nothing about. I've read your story's and hear the lame excuses why people use and relapse. Yes at first I thought I was talking to an addict(you probably are, you just wont admit it) but I realize now, you are an enabler. Defending and rationalizing a junkys reasons for using, there is always an excuse. Let me tell you, your deductive reasoning skills are amazing. There are only two tyes of people posting on this discussion. Addicts or enablers. An enabler is just as bad as a junky.
